РЕКЛАМА
When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. Special thanks to the Kollisch family for the use of Eva’s two memoirs, “Girl in Movement” and “The Ground Under My Feet”, the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College and their “Voices of Feminism Oral History Project”, and Soundtrack New York.…

What do you know about mathematics? Often overlooked as “that difficult subject,” many students are prone to dismissing mathematics as nothing more than numbers and equations but, at GSW, it’s so much more! Passionate professors such as Bob Davis, Matt Evans, and Emily Casey guide their students through the intricacies of mathematics ranging from knot theory to non-Euclidean geometry. Students are asked tough, thought-provoking questions about mathematics such as, “How does one know mathematics?” and “Why is it acceptable to be bad at it?” The GSW mathematics program is exploring all the angles and making this experience count, all sines of an awesome start to GSW 2018!

×As GSW draws to a close, we’d be remiss not to think back on our experiences here and reflect. We’ve met new people, learned new things, and realised new perspectives. It’s every unique idea, interest, talent, and passion that’s made Governor’s School stand out. It’s the hard work of the TACs, faculty, and staff. It’s the sheer closeness that such an intensive experience forms. I’ve found this summer to be one of the best of my life and I don’t think I’m alone in that sentiment either. I wanted to know how others were processing their GSW experience. Most of all, I wanted to share in their reflecting process.…
¡Hola y bienvenidos al programa de Espanol! There are numerous benefits to fluency in multiple languages including, but not limited to, impressing your friends with your linguistic abilities. The Spanish students at GSW take this to another level with their ability to converse in Spanish about complex issues such as immigration, identity struggles in the Latino community, and the Venezuelan crisis. Led by Spanish instructor McClain Musson, students learn to take their Spanish skills to the next level and strive for proficiency in that language. The instruction doesn’t end in the classroom either. Photojournalist Natalie Keyssar has spent 5 years in Venezuela observing the complex issues there and left some wisdom with Spanish students just this week! Los estudiantes de español están explorando las problemas complejas en el sociedad de latinoamérica con muy talento y habilidad!…
