Hebrews 12:1-13 explains the discipline given by God.
Hebrews 12:10 – “For they(earthly fathers) disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He(God) disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.” Please note that the 1st part is in English, and the 2nd part is in Malayalam starting at 19:37 mark.
Every aspect of our life needs discipline to function well personally and socially. This is true at home, in school, in the public, at church, at social gatherings etc. Parents discipline children at home. Teachers discipline children in school. The intention of disciplining children is to convince them of the consequences of their actions, the way they should behave, the punctuality they need in life, the responsibility they should take in different situations etc. The intention of the parents is to make the child a better person. Parents discipline children because they love them. God disciplines His children in different ways too out of His love for us. Parents discipline children for a short time only, but God disciplines us throughout our lives as we are expected to live with Him in eternity.
