The Knicks make a historic comeback after a struggle throughout the entirety of this game. To start, the 76ers came out and stuck to their game plan of working through Embiid and Maxey to create opportunities and it was working in the role players favors. Maxey driving and kicking out to the corners was able to find Tobias Harris a few times and put pressure on the Knicks. Defensively, Nick Nurse made it a point to give Brunson different looks, putting Batum, Harris and Oubre on his on different occasions to make sure Brunson doesn't feel comfortable. Knicks being the resilient team they are would not go down without a fight. By the end of the 1st Half, the Knicks were down by just 4 pts. To start the 2nd Half, the Knicks came out and showed more energy and hustle. Josh Hart lead the way by doing what he does best which is grab rebounds and push the pace. in the 3rd quarter the Knicks got their first lead of the game and it became a ball game. in the final moments of the game 2 Nick Nurse drew up a play for Maxey which lead to a go ahead Maxey 3 pt field that put them up by 5. the Knicks now had possession, it was 96-101 and in a broken play Jalen Brunson was able to knock down a 3. In the following play 76ers were inbounding the ball and a bad pass from Lowry caused Maxey to stumble and fall with the ball allowing hart to snatch it from Maxey. hart was able to get it to Divencenzo who missed the 3 pt attempt but Hartenstein grabbed the strong offensive rebound over Embiid got it to Anunoby who then got it back to Divencenzo who splashes a 3 pt to make it a 102-101. 76ers had the ball for the finals seconds and another wonderful play drew up by Nick Nurse where on the inbound Maxey would storm from half court into the lane and attempt a layup but iHart with another big play stuffs the shot at the rim which lead to a foul on Anunoby and free throws. The Knicks escape with a win that will go down in history and who better to talk about it then the greatest podcast panel in sports podcast history.
