It’s one of the classic family holidays – going camping. Whose kids don’t love the idea of curling up in a sleeping bag? But for parents who don’t fancy the idea of basic canvas, the Kidventures family travel podcast hosts are joined by Claire Hall, mum of two and ex-caravan owner, who writes the family travel blog Tinbox Traveller, and who’s been camping since she was a child herself.
From caravanning to glamping, pre pitched tents and how to make camping family-friendly for all the family, Claire has squeezed through tight caravan doors while heavily pregnant, taken her baby camping when weeks old, survived a tent nearly blowing away and a lot of glorious sunny escapes. She shares her tips on everything from packing to cooking, taking a first camping trip and exploring Europe on a camping holiday as well as why camping is perfect with young kids.
Her attitude? Arguments over tent poles definitely don’t need to be part of a great family camping trip – and kettle barbecues should definitely be on your list (ideally along with a husband who’ll make breakfast). Just don’t forget your knickers…
