The Don Hails from this period, Good with his hands, he followed in his father's footsteps as a plumber, before moving to Australia in his late teens and being drawn into what was the beginning of a surfing life not just for him but for many that shaped what modern surfing is today!
It wasn't long before The Don was a local in Torquay and regarded as one of the great craftsman of foam - his passion, knowledge, and thirst have him still today highly regarded and connected in a league of legends, Shaping for Pyke, Ripcurl, Mark Richards, Dick Brewer and his own brand Sunbird Surfboards. The Don is a true gentleman of the Land and Sea, He knows how to yarn with the best of them, and sometimes its a decoy so watch him in the water, one of the elders of Winki.
