Manage episode 432817453 series 3545122
Licensed family and marriage therapist Elizabeth Page hadn’t intended on being in her line of work but when she didn’t know how to help her failing marriage, she started studying in an effort to “fix” their problems.
Two days after her professional license arrived in the mail, she left her then husband after married for 16 years and had three children. The whole experience was more painful and difficult than she had anticipated, but also incredibly necessary. In this process she found her confidence, and began living in a way that aligned with her values. She learned to listen to her body, trust herself, and get help when she needed it.
Now she gets to help families get through the difficulties that can come over the years before they get to that point. She counsels couples, and teens and we got into all the juicy behind the scenes from her therapist’s point of view.
