The numbers are everything. The first thing real estate investors need to know are their numbers.They tell a story which determines if an investment meets your objectives and whether it is a good deal for you. The second thing investors must do is track their progress. For passive investing, we refer to the freedom number as our own end goal. The freedom number simply is the point at which income exceeds expense to such a degree that we can elect to continue a course rather be compelled to continue on the path. For active investors, tracking your progress is critical because if you are not meeting your plan or budgeted goals, you must be prepared to dig-in and investigate where the shortcomings are occurring and alter the direction of your investment, whether it is in the area of market, operations or any other aspect of your investment.
