“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
Cutting corners in hopes of achieving our goals, especially when we think nobody is looking, can be extremely tempting in the heat of the moment. But that might not be God’s will for us at that moment. Jesus Christ had a specific mission and, even when tempted, endured suffering. From being tempted in the wilderness to death on the cross, Jesus was fully obedient and without sin, trusting and obeying the Father and that God’s will was better than His own, even in His weakest and most vulnerable state. When we proclaim Jesus is Lord, we receive His Spirit that helps guide us when tempted. Cling to the hope of the gospel and trust God’s plan for you, not by your power, but by His power. The way we undergo temptation is to know it is inevitable and trust that God will provide a way out of it so that we can endure all things by His strength, grace, mercy, and power.
