Engineering Maths (2019) Lecture 2

Audio recording of Engineering Maths (2019) Lecture 2. This looks at 3-point numerical integration with Simpson's rule, and demonstrates how its accuracy improves as increasing numbers of steps are used for integration (faster improvement than with the Trapezium rule) - but the noise-tolerance of Simpson's rule may be worse, so judgement is needed for selecting a suitable numerical integration rule.
PDF notes and slides are available (for undergrads taking the course) on Moodle, and will be useful for following the audio recording. I've cut out some discussion so the recording is mainly me talking, plus a small amount of student comment.
