Let me share with you my opinion about low morale before we get deep into the rhythm of things. Morale is different for everyone. It may feel absent on those long nights long after you put down you phone. After a falsely hopeful attempt at taking a sleeping pill. It can be a driving force that you feel generate inside you when something calls to you and energizes you to follow something you passionately believe in. Morale comes and goes with the change in weather at times. But low morale in an environment like the military can cause a whirlwind of problems from the individual to the highest ranking person. In the military we have measures in place to check on morale. A battle buddy, a team leader, squad leader and so on. There are layers of support. And even on bad days there is always a chaplain to be found. But what happens when we leave the military? Well, some would say, there's plenty of assistance programs and services and resources that is provided things should run smoothly. Changes are when we leave we don't always do so because we retire and have fulfilled all the time in service we aimed to accomplish. A program such as TAPS is a core program many servicemembers would be familiar with on separating. They often cover primary areas such as resume writing, tools related to job search and prep, education related information and benefits explanation and more. But one area the TAPS program fails to address is the morale of the servicemember. How would we address this in a transition program in the first place? Why would we? And should we? I'd purpose yes to all of the above. Morale is not seem as part of transition because it is difficult to tailor a program to an individual. Yet it is necessary and more so to address morale during this time-frame because it will dictate the effectiveness of any other programs or assistance the service members need. Low morale is need addressed because a progeam must first learn to identify and met the service member where they are at at the time of leaving. Morale is a key factor in adjusting what that individual needs to succeed and in what order of preference would best allow them to succeed. Progeams such a TAPS fail because they were created to address core areas statistically and systematically shown to be areas of importance for military members as a whole who are transitioning. Not the individual that may need certain steps done prior to others in order to be successful in transitioning. Let's look at some of the core areas TAPS focus on. ... Now let's use myself as an example. Let's go down the list. #DismountPodcast #MilitaryVet #Military #MusicPodcast #PodcastersOfInstagram #PodcastLife #PodcastShow #repost #podcastmovement #podcaster #VeteranPodcast #VeteranMediaBiz #VetLife #Military --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dismount/message
