In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV) BECAUSE CHRIST RESURRECTED… 1. I Can Be Born Again “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth” 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV) “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) 2. I Can Have Hope “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us… a living hope…” 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV) PSALM 23 • Expect Your Needs To Be Met “The Lord IS my shepherd, I will lack nothing.” (v.1) • Expect To Be Refreshed & Restored “In places of green pastures he makes me rest; beside still he drives. He restores my soul…” (v.2) • Expect Growth “He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (v.3) • Expect Victory “Even though I pass through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, because you are with me; Your rod and your staff give me encouragement. You prepare the table before me in the presence of my enemies” (v.4) • Expect To Be Blessed Abundantly “You have anointed my head with oil; “My cup is overflowing.” (v.5) • Expect Goodness & Mercy “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life” (v.6) • Expect The Fulfillment Of His Promises “And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for long days.” (v.6) 3. I Can Receive A Heavenly Inheritance “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us… an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV) “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NLT) “I am the resurrection and the life.
