“Advent: Hopeful Expectation" (Matthew 1:18-2:12) December 01, 2024
Manage episode 455527485 series 3497757
In this sermon, we explore Matthew 1:18–2:12, a powerful passage recounting the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ and the visit of the Magi. Join us as we dive into the story of Mary and Joseph, the angel's reassurance in a dream, and the prophetic fulfillment of the virgin birth of the Messiah.
We also follow the Wise Men from the East, guided by the star of Bethlehem, as they bring gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to worship the newborn King of the Jews. We look at the significance and meaning of these gifts. Did the Magi understand what they were offering? How does their 'worship' of toddler Jesus with these gifts encourage our posture toward Christ?
Join us as we explore this text and its rich meaning as we kick off the Advent season.
Please follow us for weekly updates on sermons and leave us a review so that people can be encouraged to find messages of hope.
