We have an unbelievably fun show planned tonight on the Five Heart Podcast. There is so much to cover as we put the last nail in the Iowa loss (last Friday). After the dust settled, we learned a few things about that game.

Lots of staff changes have taken place this week. As rumors began circling first thing Monday morning about Tony White leaving to become the Defensive Coordinator for FSU and the possibility of Terrance Knighton leaving as well.

With the announcement of coaching departures, came the news that several players have entered the transfer portal. NCAA has capped the roster to 105 players next season from the 150 we’ve been allotted this year. So far we have 15 guys leaving through the portal, 13 seniors graduating but 20 players that have newly signed. That’s still over by 53 players. As the saying goes, ‘that math isn’t mathing’.

Speaking of our newly signed players, Nebraska now has the 19th ranked signing class for 2025. With six 4 star and fourteen 3 star additions, the early signing period has shaped up quite well. We still have through February 5th to add more players to this class.

The team has been busy practicing and lifting this week as we finally get those elusive 15ish extra bowl game practices that we’ve missed out on for the last 8 years. I love the fact that it doesn’t look like those 13 seniors that I mentioned before will be opting out of the bowl game. Headed to these practices have special meaning for the team but even more so to those seniors.

Lastly, those black shorts have done us proud! (AGAIN). Nebraska will be hosting Florida A&M Friday night at 8pm.
