Dr. Akins' newest book, "Black Lives, White Lies: The Need for White Christians to Fight Racism in America,” interrupted the development of a sequel to his first book “Caught by the Collar” and was born out of conversations he had with white patients who did not understand the phrase Black Lives Matter and seemed in many cases to be almost offended by it.
