This past week has been difficult with the report coming out about the egregious sexual sin of famed apologist Ravi Zacharias. We cannot overlook this or downplay the magnitude of the deception and sin that was happening in the private life of this prominent Christian leader. What do we make of this? What can we learn from this cautionary tale? How can we safeguard our lives so as not to make the same mistake? Scripture encourages Christians to walk in the light, confess our sins to God and to one another, and that by doing this, we can live the abundant life. Our fellowship with God, our authentic/transparent relationships with our Christian community, and our honesty are vital in having victory over the secret/hidden sins that so easily entangle us. This episode is a hard listen, but it is necessary for us to learn from the horrendous mistakes of others.
