Woody Giessmann and I sat down to talk about art, addiction, the Del Fuegos and what is evidence based therapy. He is a licensed addiction specialist and a Board Certified Family Interventionalist.

He is also an artist, painter and musician, who was the drummer for the 80s band, The Del Fuegos.

Addiction, both to substances and to behaviors, has ruined so many lives. It came under the microscope with the opioid epidemic in the last decade, but has certainly been around much, much longer.

He and I explore a bit of his history, the definition of addiction and what art therapy really means.

It is a fascinating conversation that I know I will be unpacking for a while in my head.
