Our previous two seasons began with a guest named Scott. This year we start with a Stamp and we couldn't be happier! Jack Stamp stops in to share his journey from being a seventh-grade percussionist to becoming a composer and conductor. He reveals his experiences in the music industry, including his work with various ensembles and publishers. Jack also talks about the importance of asking 'why' when doing score study as a conductor and composer, and the value of teaching through music. He mentions some of his notable compositions, such as 'Gavorkna Fanfare' and his arrangement of the 'Star Spangled Banner'. Jack expresses his desire to write a musical in the future. Jack also talks about the importance of music in education and the potential impact of artificial intelligence on creativity. The conversation concludes with a speed round of questions crafted by Peter that are actually pretty good.
