Daniel 3
Verse of the Week: “there is no other god who is able to deliver like this.” Daniel 3:29

1. Pass life’s tests
“But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food” Daniel 1:8
“Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up?” Dan. 3:14
“what god is there who can deliver you out of my hands?” Dan. 3:15
“Then the king caused Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to prosper in the province of Babylon.” Daniel 3:30

2. Stand in community, not isolation
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you.’” Daniel 3:16
“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” Matthew 16:24
“Therefore we do not lose heart and give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! We concentrate not on what is seen but on what is not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16 - 18

3. Rely on God
“Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials….‘Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!’” Daniel 3:24 & 25

“for God Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you, nor forsake you.’” Hebrews 13:5
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire.” Daniel 3:26
“the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men nor was the hair of their head singed, nor were their trousers damaged, nor had the smell of fire even come upon them.” Daniel 3:27
