On January 13th, 1999 Hae Min Lee (18) went missing. Her body would be found almost a month later in Leakin Park in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a beautiful, driven, intelligent and athletic soul who was taken too soon and in a horrible way.
Her ex boyfriend, Adnan Syed (17), would later be arrested and convicted of her murder based on mostly circumstantial evidence.
This case would spend years going through appeals and high courts before Adnan would be released on Sept. 19, 2022 when a judge vacated his conviction.
This case is STILL playing out in the judicial systems as the Maryland Attorney General feels the basis for the reversal was rushed and not based in fact....
Here in part one we cover up to the conviction of Adnan. In part two we will take you down the rabbit hole of the appeals process, our theories and to current day.
