The seminar/dialogue took place on WEDNESDAY 25 JULY from 13:15 - 14:15 in the Drama For Life Resource Centre, 21st Floor, University Corner.
In this seminar Prof Gerrit Olivier discusses the thinking behind establishing the Wits degree, and the relation between the shape of the Wits degree and an evolving national and international context. He was in dialogue with Prof Christo Doherty, also from the Wits School of Arts.
Prof Olivier played a crucial role in conceptualising the Creative Work PhD at Wits and getting the degree formally recognized by the University. Prior to that he was a key figure in getting creative work/artistic practice recognized as research at Wits University and in the wider South African tertiary environment.
