Nestled in the picturesque agricultural valley just north of Vancouver, BC, Catherine shares her journey of turning a patch of rocky, nutrient-poor soil into a thriving lavender oasis. 🌿
With a background in horticulture and floral design, Catherine chose to grow lavender as it was a perfect fit for the hot, dry summers and sandy soil in Pemberton Meadows. From starting off with just a few plants in 2018, Catherine now boasts almost 1200 lavender plants in various varieties such as Provence, de Grasso, Phenomenal and more.
Listen in as Catherine shares the challenges she faced, including losing 50% of her first crop to the winter, and how she overcame them through proper soil preparation and fertilizer use. 😎
Catherine also talks about her love for creating products from her lavender, including sachets, culinary buds and more. ✨
