Welcome to Anime Shmanime… The Anime! Just kidding it’s Genshiken this week on the pod! Genshiken is a show about a group of otakus just doing otaku things. It’s a pure slice of life anime with little substance beyond that. The art style leaves something to be desired and there’s not much plot to sink your teeth into but that’s not the point. It’s a cross-section of otaku culture that covers all the bases with characters that are almost too accurate. Anyone who has dabbled in the lifestyle will be able to find themselves in this show and that’s worth something to the community. Throw it on in the background while you build your gunpla in the Spring, and then listen to us get into it!
