Things I Wish My Father Would Have Taught Me
Manage episode 332137637 series 1097733
Deuteronomy 6:5-9
1. I wish my Dad had taught me to enjoy the rewards of my labor.
Ecclesiastes 2:4 Ecclesiastes 9:10
2. I wish my Dad would have taught me to accept help.
3. I wish my Dad had taught me that everything can’t be settled with a fight.
Three takeaways from this message:
1. The next generation needs common sense. Proverbs 16:16
The next generation needs to know how to live mor than they need to know how to make a living.
2. The next generation needs to understand character counts. Ephesians 4:23-24
Character describes morals and ethics. Romans 5:3-4
Maturity does not come with age but with responsibility.
3. The next generation needs a Biblical values system. 1 Corinthians 16:13
Convictions are values you live by, something you won’t give up for peer pressure. Daniel 1:8
Convictions produce passion, and passionate people change the world.
Convictions must be modeled. They are more ‘caught’ thank ‘taught’.
