Are You Ok, Sis?
Manage episode 455808924 series 3593421
This week on A Monday Moment with Dr. Mal, Im asking a question thats been heavy on my heart: Are You Ok, Sis? In the wake of the recent presidential election results, many of us are feeling disappointment, frustration, and a lingering fear about what the future holds for Black women in this country. Well talk about the anxieties that come with witnessing a political landscape that doesnt seem to value our voices, our bodies, or our right to thrive.
As we move through a time of year already fraught with financial stresses, concerns over accessible healthcare, educational disparities, generational trauma, and that relentless feeling of being targeted by both micro- and macro-aggressions, its easy to feel overwhelmed. But you are not alone. Im holding space today to acknowledge these burdens, confront these truths, and talk candidly about how we can protect our mental well-being even when it feels like meaningful change is an elusive goal.
