I have been on a wild ride of self healing and for lack of better words my own enlightenment. I have - within the last year of finding your show - quit hard opiates successfully even though my mother began feeding me Vicodin and Xanax at age 11, severed the sick parasitic relationship I had with her, re-stabilized my marriage that was falling apart from my lies over drugs. Our finances are now stabilizing after me funneling my husband's hard-earned money to drug dealers before I got sober. I had a heart to heart with my dad, came clean about my drug use and about why everything fell apart with their divorce and my mother's constant affairs, how I felt and what would be needed to make amends and all that is happening! I moved into a beautiful duplex after living in the ghetto in a gross town-house, got my son in a charter school rather than public school by moving where we did in this new city. My husband's life has changed immensely even though he has never been a listener, my changes have changed him in so many beautiful juicy wonderful ways! I have a 1 & 1/2 yr old boy with my husband who is THRIVING with me staying home and the fact that I nursed him for 18 months as per your classic recommendation. You have helped to change my life in countless other ways - along with other teachers I have resonated with - and my heart is starting to open again for the first time since I was a little girl. I have attached a pic of my beautiful family. My 10 yr old was conceived when I was 18 with my high school long term boyfriend who was a serial cheater. We got married 8 days before we had my son because I wanted to do the right thing and I thought my ex could change. When my son was a baby (6 months old) we lived with my sister and her son she was a single mom and wanted to help our lil family get on our feet. She had a party one night and her friend I had known since childhood was flirting with my ex all night they were all intoxicated while I was sick in bed with my period and the baby. I got up at 4am to make the baby a bottle and noticed my ex hadn't come to bed (I sobbed myself to sleep that night). I walked to the kitchen to make the bottle, and to my left I see in the dark silhouettes of someone having sex from what it looked like. I stepped a lil closer and saw my husband's tattoos on his back as he was having sex with my sister's childhood friend. I had the baby in my arms and literally had to walk over and kick him to get him off her. It was so traumatic - I saw him pull out. I don't know how I made it through that without getting violent. I just took my baby outside with me and screamed and howled the most intense pained sound. My mom lived across the street and heard me. Everyone in my house was so intoxicated on alcohol and Xanax I couldn't get anyone to care or wake up. It was a living nightmare - my sister didn't wake up til about 10am that day. My ex didn't care about what he did he was drunk and asked the woman if he could go to her place so "he could get the f*** away from this crazy b****." That was in 2009. I have taken care of my 10 year old through every struggle. We can discuss the in-between time if you choose to talk to me. My biggest concern now is that I almost have started feeling blocked from receiving and giving love to my son now that he is growing and looks so similar to his father. God - even saying that makes me feel so horrible he deserves me to pour love into him he needs it after everything we've gone through. I do show my love through everything I do and I know my love for him is evident through my actions but what i am talking about is that energy exchange that heart to heart feeling of connection I once had and still feel with the baby. "Chemical weapons watchdog OPCW defends Syria report as whistleblower claims bias "The head of the world's chemical weapons watchdog said Monday he stands by a report on an alleged attack in Syria despite leaked documents casting doubt on its conclusions. The Wikileaks website published an email over the weekend from a member of the team that investigated the attack in the town of Douma in April 2018 that accused the body of covering up discrepancies. "Russia and its allies have seized on the email and an earlier document which both question the conclusion by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in March 2019 that chlorine was used in Douma, likely dropped from aircraft. "Britain, France and the United States unleashed missile attacks on three suspected chemical weapons facilities run by President Bashar al-Assad's regime after the attack. "It is in the nature of any thorough inquiry for individuals in a team to express subjective views," OPCW Director General Fernando Arias said in a speech to the body's annual meeting in The Hague. "While some of these diverse views continue to circulate in some public discussion forums, I would like to reiterate that I stand by the independent, professional conclusion" of the probe. Just nine days after the attack on Douma, with the OPCW inspectors still held back by Russian and Syrian officials, CBS News' Seth Doane made it into the town and to the very house where the suspected chemical attack took place. "All of a sudden some gas spread around us," one neighbor told Doane. "We couldn't breathe, it smelled like chlorine." Nasr Hanan's brother Hamzeh is one of the people who appeared in videos posted online by activists. Hamzeh was seen lifeless and foaming at the mouth. His brother told CBS News how Hamzeh had tried to wash the chemicals off of himself before succumbing. He also brought CBS News to the roof of the building, where a large missile still rested in a hole it appeared to have created when it struck. - April 23, 1996, a 19-year-old woman named Stacey Stites – who was engaged to be married to a police officer in a few weeks – was found dead in a field in Bastrop, Texas. - Before being murdered, Stacey had been brutally beaten, raped, and sodomized. - Her fiancé – Jimmy Fennell – fell asleep at 9pm; she left for work at 3am; her mother heard her leave. - She and her fiancé had only one car; she drove 35m. - The truck was found abandoned at the town’s local high school – only a few blocks from Rodney Reed’s grandmother’s home. - Her official cause of death: asphyxiation (strangulation) with a belt. - Her fiancé was the first suspect – last to see her alive. - But – how could he get to the murder scene, leave the truck at a school, and then somehow travel 30 miles home within a few hours to answer his landline at 6:45am? - According to information on the Supreme Court’s website, Rodney Reed is responsible for a number of sexual assaults – he only became a suspect in his 1998 conviction because he attempted to rape another woman – Linda Schlueter – six months after Stites. - 3am, same location, same route, same MO. - According to page five of the U.S. Supreme Court’s report: “Reed became a suspect in Stites’s murder after he was arrested for kidnapping, beating, and attempting to rape and murder another nineteen-year-old woman, Linda Schlueter. Schlueter was abducted by Reed approximately six months after Stites’s murder, near both the route Stites typically took to work and the time she disappeared—3:00 a.m.. Hi Stefan, I'm a stay-at-home-mom with two little boys and a girl on the way. I've been married to my husband for over ten years and we've been together for over twelve years. I've been a homemaker for over three years now. I was able to quit my full time desk job when my oldest boy was two years old after my husband started making really good money as a salesman. The reason I'm contacting you is because I'm struggling pretty badly with my not-so-new position as a homemaker. I know it probably has a lot to do with my mother in some way because of how she raised me and my sisters, but I can't figure out why I'm so lazy, why I don't take advantage of my perfect circumstances, and why I feel that I have no connection to my kids. I'm so frustrated with myself in general. I can't seem to keep my house even presentable for unexpected guests, I'm supposed to be homeschooling my six-year-old but on most days I struggle to get anything done with him regarding school work, and this third pregnancy has me very hormonal and hyper-sensitive. Anything and everything overwhelms me, and I feel like no matter how hard I try, I will never be an even half-way decent mother or homemaker. We have three dogs that I feel like I can't even handle, one that's still got a puppy bladder and I can barely keep up with the messes he makes every night while we're all asleep. And one that barks incessantly and I wish I could get rid of but can't because it was break my oldest son's heart. Sometimes I feel like I won't be able to handle being a mom of three. I can't even handle being a mom of two with dogs and a house to take care of, which I don't even take care of. I'm lazy, self absorbed, and failing miserably at doing what I feel most homemakers probably love doing: taking care of their kids, cooking delicious, healthy meals, educating their children, and keeping a comfortable, clean house. I long to be this kind of woman, but most days I feel like it's as unattainable as being a supermodel. I fantasize about my home being spotless, well-organized, about homeschooling my kids in a perfect little schoolroom, about taking care of my family, but it's just that: a dream. One that on some days I'm able to achieve a tiny little part of, but on most, I'm just an anxious, neurotic, lazy mess. I just want to be a good mom for my kids and a good homemaker and I don't understand why I can't even though I desperately want to. One of the greatest challenges of having a public conversation about complex philosophical topics is the wide differences in expertise between those new to the conversation, and those well-versed in prior arguments and evidence. Formal education deals with this problem by requiring mastery of more basic skills before being exposed to more challenging topics. That does not happen in a podcast. I want to provide enough challenging topics to maintain the interest of long-term listeners – while not simultaneously alienating new listeners. I have to teach intro to philosophy – as well as intermediate and advanced philosophy – all at the same time. In particular, I let listeners guide the conversation during call in shows. I gauge the level of expertise of the listener, and respond accordingly. Now – one trick of my attackers is to take a more advanced conclusion, and present it without any of the prior arguments and evidence. This way, the conclusion can be perceived as shocking or offensive. Group differences in IQ exist, and have been well-validated for over a century. I am far from alone from discussing these realities – Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson, Douglas Murray – as well as many other public intellectuals – have talked about these facts. However, the discussion has been often viciously suppressed – partly so that the conclusions can be presented as “shocking” and “racist.” But here is the reality: I’m not particularly interested in race. I am, however, interested in peace, which brought me to the topic quite a few years ago. Racial conflicts are quite high. Why? Group differences exist in a meritocracy, and meritocracy exists in both natural and man-made environments. If I try to survive unaided in Africa, I will not do very well. Prior to modern technology and medicine, the average white European only survived for 11 months in Africa. The meritocracy in modern Western market economies is largely conceptual and intellectual. In a free market, IQ is a strong predictor of financial success. Financial success is not everything in life – the rich are not “better” than the poor – and should have no more rights or privileges – but wealth differences are easily measurable, and can cause great resentment. Ashkenazi Jews, East Asians, whites, Hispanics, blacks, pygmies and the indigenous population of Australia all have different IQs as groups. As I have constantly reiterated, we can never justly judge an individual by group averages. Men are on average taller than women, but we cannot rationally predict whether any INDIVIDUAL woman will be taller than any individual man. We have a problem – a challenge – in society, which is that different groups in society have different levels of education, income, home ownership, total assets and so on. When I say that it is “insane” to ascribe ALL differences in group outcomes to racism and bigotry, I really mean it – but it assumes a certain understanding of facts long suppressed. What do I mean by this? Well – men go to jail far more often the women. Is that just because the legal system is sexist and biased against men? No. There are very few Chinese or Japanese athletes in the NBA – which is disproportionately black. Is that because the NBA is racist against Chinese or Japanese athletes? Of course not. IQ has correlations to income, educational achievement, criminality, marital stability and a wide variety of other social and economic outcomes. Group variations in IQ produce many group differences in outcomes. These group differences are significant, and troubling. No society can utterly ignore these differences. And here’s what’s most important: different ideologies will provide different explanations. The most prevalent current explanation for economic ethnic differences is white privilege and white racism. This explanation is false. If whites are so racist against non-whites, why do East Asians and Indian immigrants make more money than whites in majority-white countries? Why do East Asians across the world make so much money? If whites are racists against blacks, why do black immigrants to majority-white countries make so much more money than African-Americans? The answer usually provided is the “legacy of oppression.” European Jews were oppressed for centuries in the West – culminating in the horrors of the Holocaust, which was certainly worse than slavery in most respects. Yet when European Jews came to America – often not speaking English and with little or no money – very rapidly achieved income parity with whites. Japanese-Americans were stripped of property and thrown into concentration camps under FDR – yet their incomes remains higher than the white average. If it’s just that whites unreasonably hate blacks, why are so many black artists and politicians loved and celebrated? How could Barack Obama have been elected? No – the “racism plus oppression” narrative is incorrect. And dangerous. If groups that remain less wealthy in a market meritocracy are constantly told that whites hate them and stole from them, and continue to oppress them at every opportunity, then the stage is set for a racial war. Can you imagine the horrors of such an outcome? What if these escalations could be prevented? What if we could all get along? Philosophically, the only place human beings can meet and negotiate is in objective reality, using reason and evidence. We don’t have to hate each other. I want us all to get along. How are we going to do that? For over half a century, we have tried to eliminate group differences by redistributing income and shaming whites for endless “racism.” Has it worked? Absolutely not. Because it is the wrong approach. It misdiagnoses the problem, and so provides the wrong solution. The problem is that different ethnicities have – on average – different brain volumes, different reaction times, and different average IQs. What is the cause of this? There is no way to answer this with absolute certainty. Sub-species separated by tens of thousands of years – and inhabiting regions as different as sub-Saharan Africa and Siberia – have adapted in different ways to local environments. The human brain is not somehow magically excluded from the effects of evolution. However, even if we never discover the cause, it doesn’t matter much in how we deal with the current realities. If we never discover the detailed causes for the relative shortness of East Asians, it still doesn’t change the fact that there will still be fewer professional East Asian basketball players. The central answer to group differences is IQ differences. IQ differences explain why Jews make more than East Asians, who in turn make more than whites, who in turn make more than Hispanics, who in turn make more than blacks, who in turn make more than Australian aboriginals, and so on. IQ differences explain why highly motivated and intelligent immigrants make more money than whites in America. By our late teens, IQ is 80% genetic. IQ is not everything of course – wisdom matters more than mere intelligence in the pursuit of happiness, and understanding basic philosophy is essential to living a good life. I have dedicated my life to helping people live wisely – the 650 million views and downloads of Freedomain show how powerful philosophy is for people all around the world. I do not require that people who talk to me be previously educated in philosophy – it is MY job to bring philosophy to life for them. We can ALL understand and appreciate basic philosophy, regardless of IQ. Environment DOES matter of course – looking at a genetically identical group – North and South Koreans – we can clearly see that the market freedoms enjoyed by the South Koreans have made them far wealthier than the bitter enslaved poverty of their Northern brothers and sisters. In a market meritocracy, however, group differences tend to widen. Economic freedom highlights group differences – income inequality often increases in the free market. Which brings us to our most essential choice. We can continue down this path of rage and blame, of guilt and bribed appeasement – or we can start discussing facts, reality, reason and science. I know these are difficult subjects – but, the elemental question in philosophy is: compared to what? Many people do not understand why I focus on these issues, and imagine that I take some sort of pleasure in the topic. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is sad and challenging information, but I was raised to speak the truth and shame the devil – to speak the truth, though the skies should fall. Honesty is the first virtue – for without it, no other virtues are possible. Talking about IQ differences is not “white supremacy,” because whites fall in the middle of the IQ spectrum. If we suppress conversations about these issues, we do NOT solve the problem of racism. We just become racists against whites for their imagined “privilege” and “racism.” That is unfair. This is no-one’s fault. No one is to blame. We have a challenge that we need to come together to solve, to reason with together. We are all human. Diversity should NOT divide us. These facts can be denied, but they cannot be ignored. I have interviewed 17 world experts in the field of human intelligence. I have assembled and presented detailed breakdowns of the data and realities of group differences. I do not do this because I love conflict, but because I do oppose violence. If the escalation of rage and blame for realities which are beyond the control of any individual or group continues to escalate, where does it end? I would be very keen to NOT find that out. I am guessing you would be too. What is the solution? The solution is curiosity, truth and understanding. The solution is an energetic conversation aimed at dealing with these challenges without rage, without blame, and without violence. All solutions must be peaceful, voluntary and in full compliance with the non-aggression principle. In this area – as in so many others – the truth will not just set you free. "CBS News has fired a female staffer believed to have had access to the tape of Amy Robach raging against ABC News, Page Six understands. "We reported on Wednesday that ABC News chiefs discovered a former employee could be behind the leak of the damning footage of Robach slamming the network for shelving her interview with Jeffrey Epstein’s “sex slave” Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Sources told Page Six that a former staffer had access to the footage of Robach as she aired her frustrations over a hot mike — and that employee was now believed to be working at CBS. "A TV source told us later on Wednesday that the woman was let go from CBS, after ABC execs alerted the rival network. "ABC sources confirmed to us that they’d informed counterparts at CBS about the staffer “as a courtesy.” "As we reported, it is not known whether the woman leaked the tape, which was recorded in July, to the Web site Project Veritas, or may have showed it to others who passed it on. "A CBS spokesperson declined to comment on the matter. Stefan, I need your help to find the answer to the first most fundamental question in life, which is what is the purpose of it? It's tough to start life without knowing what the heck is the purpose of it, the end goal, the idea by which your success in life can be measured, the final cause to which you as a living being is directed, and therefore what allows you to know what is good. Now that I have turned 18 and am soon to be independent, had my first romantic relationship and had my heart broken for the first time, dropped school and almost hanged myself, now that I don't know what I want to do, I can see how hard it is to move on without a worthy end goal. Because life is suffering, and I just can't deal with the how, since I don't have a why. The existential crisis is so great that I'm paralyzed, I can't do anything, I can't work and move on knowing that it might be all for nothing, and I find it very hard to see how is it that not everyone else thinks the same. So I know I need meaning, but I mean real meaning. Not some made up crap, not some "create your own meaning" thing that doesn't seem to make sense to me. And it seems that real meaning could only be found in God, because the finite things, it seems to me, can only find meaning on the eternal. Problem is I can't have faith, I tried, but I couldn't. So I'm lost. Taking with him the credibility of the mainstream media... "Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been exploiting women as sex slaves, and a horrifying story of a new victim has now emerged. "American aid worker Kayla Mueller, who was very vocal in expressing her disapproval of human misery in Syria, was unfortunately abducted by Islamist militants. According to reports, she had travelled from across the Turkish border to visit a hospital in Aleppo as part of her humanitarian work in the Syrian region. She was accompanying a contractor from the Doctors Without Borders group, who had requested her assistance for the trip to the hospital. Mueller was taken by IS operatives during the road trip to Aleppo, and was held captive for over 17 months in Raqqa. She was housed in IS leader Abu Sayyaf’s house as a prisoner for Baghdadi, who repeatedly raped her. According to sources, Baghdadi’s jihadi cohorts even ripped out Mueller’s finger nails before informing her that she would be forcibly married to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Ironically, a marriage is considered Islamic only if the woman consents to it, which means that Baghdadi’s forced marriage and rape of Mueller was entirely un-Islamic. Strangely, Baghdadi claims he is a ‘leader’ of Muslims around the world. The IS later claimed that Mueller died as a result of Jordanian airstrikes in the region. Though U.S. officials confirmed her death, they denied that any Jordanian airstrikes had been carried out that day, which means that Mueller’s death is still unexplained and mysterious. Many believe she was murdered by the IS. 2. Torture and rape of 16-year old sex slave: Young Yazidi woman Muna personally recounted how she was tortured by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. She narrates how she was chosen to become Baghdadi’s sex slave. After the Mount Sinjar siege in 2014, 61 Yazidi women were taken hostage by the IS – ranging from the ages 9-22. After being held captive for two nights by five militants at a property in IS capital Raqqa, Baghdadi himself arrived to choose his slave. He was accompanied by his 30-year-old Kurdish son-in-law and bodyguard, named Mansour. After selecting Muna as his sex slave, Baghdadi transported her to a two-storey house located in the centre of Raqqa, where he lived with three other wives, three sons and three daughters. However, Muna explained that Baghdadi’s wives were not docile either. She said, “The wives were always worse than Baghdadi. They were always telling the children that they were lazy and beating them.’ When Muna attempted to escape, she was unfortunately recaptured by IS guards and returned to Baghdadi. To punish her, he severely beat her with a belt and a garden hoe, causing multiple bruises on her body. He also slapped her till her nose bled, telling her that she ‘belongs to the Islamic State.’ She also shared that one beating by Baghdadi was so horrific, that it left her with a dislocated shoulder, and resulted in bone fractures on her friend’s face. Eventually, Muna managed to escape her torture, fleeing from captivity to be rescued by Kurdish forces.
