Spiritual growth requires intentional self-examination of our faith journey. This examination should focus on three key areas: our foundation in God's Word, internal evidence of the Holy Spirit's work, and external evidence through visible fruit in our lives. Regular assessment within a church community helps ensure we're truly growing in Christ rather than merely going through religious motions. The ultimate goal isn't to create doubt but to strengthen our confidence in Christ and help us live more authentically in our faith.

In John 9, Jesus heals a man blind from birth, demonstrating His power as the light of the world. This physical healing serves as a powerful metaphor for spiritual sight and blindness. While the healed man grows in faith and eventually worships Jesus as Lord, the Pharisees remain spiritually blind due to their pride. The story challenges us to examine our own spiritual sight and recognize our complete dependence on Jesus, reminding us that true spiritual vision begins with humility.…

Pastor Daniel Justice continues our series from the Book of John called "The Miracles of Jesus" by looking at how to find true satisfaction in life through complete surrender to Jesus Christ. This sermon is perfect for those seeking spiritual growth, understanding biblical narratives, or wrestling with questions about faith, purpose, and satisfaction in life In this sermon, you can: - Discover profound insights from the feeding of 5,000 about authentic faith, spiritual nourishment, and the transformative power of genuine belief. - Learn why thousands followed Jesus across the Sea of Galilee and how this miraculous event reveals essential truths about God's provision, spiritual hunger, and the nature of true discipleship. - Explore the deeper meaning behind Jesus's identity as the bread of life and why many struggled with His call for complete dependence.…

God designed biblical festivals to be joyful celebrations, not just solemn obligations. These gatherings, which occupied about three months of the Jewish calendar year, were meant for rest, feasting, and communal fellowship. The festivals included sharing meals, expressing gratitude, and enjoying God's presence while maintaining moral boundaries. Unlike pagan festivities, these celebrations focused on thanking God, caring for the vulnerable, and strengthening community bonds.…

At the Pool of Bethesda, Jesus heals a man who had been ill for 38 years, sparking controversy by performing this miracle on the Sabbath. When challenged, Jesus declares His unique relationship with God the Father, claiming divine authority and equality. Through this encounter, Jesus demonstrates He is not merely a teacher or prophet but the divine Son of God who has life in Himself. His claims are validated through John the Baptist's testimony, miraculous signs, and Scripture, establishing His authority as the final judge before whom all will stand.…

Through a powerful encounter in John 4, we explore the difference between seeking God for miracles versus seeking Him for who He is. A royal official's journey from desperately seeking healing for his son to developing genuine faith illustrates this transformation. True faith means trusting God's character even when circumstances are difficult rather than treating Him like a cosmic vending machine. The progression from sign-seeking to authentic belief challenges us to examine our own motivations in approaching God.…

Jesus' cleansing of the temple reveals powerful truths about authentic worship and genuine faith. The temple courts had become a chaotic marketplace, distracting from its true purpose as God's dwelling place. Jesus' dramatic response demonstrates His passion for preserving proper worship and establishing Himself as the new temple - the direct connection between humanity and God. This teaches us to examine our own lives for distractions that prevent genuine worship and to pursue a transformative relationship with Jesus based on who He is rather than just what He can do for us.…

True joy in Christianity goes beyond fleeting happiness, rooted in understanding God's own nature of joy and Jesus's teachings. Eight key factors, validated by modern research, align perfectly with biblical principles for finding lasting happiness. These include avoiding resentment, letting go of past mistakes, accepting unchangeable circumstances, and maintaining strong community connections. Christianity uniquely grounds these principles in reality through Jesus Christ, offering a path to genuine, sustainable joy through the practical application of biblical teachings.…

At a wedding in Cana of Galilee, Jesus performed His first miracle by turning water into wine when the celebration's supply ran out. Using six stone water pots meant for ceremonial washing, He produced 180 gallons of the finest wine. This miraculous transformation symbolized Jesus's power to replace religious rituals with true spiritual cleansing, demonstrating that salvation comes through Him alone, not through human efforts. The abundance and quality of wine also revealed Jesus's character as one who brings joy and celebrates with His people.…

True joy cannot be found in temporary earthly pleasures, as they leave us with an unfulfilled longing. God promises eternal happiness that surpasses human comprehension, as described in 1 Corinthians 2:9. Heaven will be a place without tears, death, mourning, or pain, where believers will experience the direct presence of God. The grace experienced now is merely a fraction of the endless joy that awaits in eternity, where God will continuously reveal new dimensions of His grace.…

God's holiness and joy work together in perfect harmony, though many believers struggle to reconcile these concepts. While His holiness may initially produce godly sorrow, it's designed to lead us into deeper joy. The story from Nehemiah 8 demonstrates how the Israelites moved from mourning to celebration upon hearing God's law. This transformation teaches us that while conviction of sin is important, we're not meant to remain in grief but to find refuge in the joy of the Lord, which becomes our stronghold.…

In a powerful display of devotion, a woman enters Simon the Leper's house with an alabaster vial of expensive perfume worth a year's wages. Despite criticism from others who saw it as wasteful, she breaks the vial and pours the contents over Jesus' head. Jesus defends her actions, declaring it a beautiful act of worship. This story teaches that true worship comes from pure love, involves sacrifice, follows the Spirit's leading, and is unique to each person's ability and resources.…

God meets us in our doubts and fears, as demonstrated through Gideon's transformation from a fearful man hiding in a winepress to a mighty warrior. Through patient guidance and strategic challenges, God grew Gideon's faith by reducing his army to just 300 men and giving unusual battle instructions. This journey illustrates how God develops both personal faith - believing in His love and salvation - and active faith - stepping out in obedience to advance His kingdom. God's primary concern is growing our trust in Him, even as He works through our brokenness and doubts.…

Jesus was far from the stoic figure many imagine, displaying a full spectrum of human emotions including profound joy. Biblical accounts reveal Him as someone who celebrated life, enjoyed social gatherings, and maintained joy even in difficult circumstances. He was known as a friend to sinners and outcasts, suggesting an approachable and warm personality. His joy was so evident that He was criticized for being too celebratory compared to John the Baptist, yet this joy remained steadfast even as He faced His greatest challenges.…
