Can coercive control lead to murder charges?
When Micah Miller, the wife of Pastor John Paul Miller, took her own life in April 2024, it left a trail of disturbing questions and allegations. Their tumultuous relationship—born out of an affair with a babysitter who was also his best friend’s wife—was riddled with toxic behavior, accusations of coercive control, and alleged mental health struggles on both sides.
John Paul claims he was her rock, helping her through severe mental health crises, but evidence from Micah’s own writings and videos paints a starkly different picture. With allegations of tracking devices, tire slashing, and financial red flags, it’s clear this story goes far beyond a simple tragic relationship.
Could someone’s toxic behavior ever cross the line into criminal responsibility for another’s suicide? Is it ever truly possible to untangle the threads of manipulation, mental illness, and reality in such a murky case?

What kind of person allegedly studies the art of the perfect crime—and then seems to leave behind a digital trail of breadcrumbs like it’s part of the plan? In this unnervingly fascinating dive into the alleged behavior of Bryan Kohberger, Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott unpack the chilling possibility that the University of Idaho murder suspect may have been playing out a twisted homage to his favorite horror films. From eerie similarities to American Psycho and Psycho to bizarre shower selfies and internet personas like “Papa Rogers,” the details keep getting darker and more surreal. Was the tight-buttoned shirt and thumbs-up in the bathroom a taunt to the world? A sick inside joke? Or an alleged nod to cinematic killers he may have admired? And how often do alleged killers find inspiration in movies and mass murderers of the past? If these breadcrumbs were left on purpose, what other pieces might still be out there waiting to be discovered? #BryanKohberger #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #IdahoMurders #AmericanPsycho #TrueCrimeCommunity #PsychologicalProfiling Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Was Karen Read seeking justice—or just someone to keep telling her she’s right? When a Boston police officer, John O'Keefe, turns up dead and Karen Read is charged with his alleged murder, things spiral into more than just a courtroom drama. Encrypted messages, endless hours of contact with a controversial blogger (who might have a bit of a crush), and a defense that screams “cover-up” more than “clear-cut”—this case is a messy mix of emotion, obsession, and chaos. Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to break down the psychological whirlwind behind Read’s actions: from potentially manipulative behavior, to an almost teenage-like hunger for validation, to whether this entire saga is driven by guilt or just a need to win—at any cost. With a former juror now bizarrely on her legal team and behavior that looks more like a reality show than a murder trial, one question lingers... Will Karen Read be convicted based on her personality instead of the evidence? #KarenRead #JohnOKeefe #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #LegalDrama #PsychologicalAnalysis #TonyBrueski Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Could a self-declared prophet really be her own best defense attorney—while on trial for conspiracy to murder? Lori Vallow Daybell isn’t just accused of plotting her husband’s death—she’s also decided she’s the right person to argue her own case in court. Yeah, because nothing says “stable and innocent” like cross-examining witnesses in shackles. In this episode, Tony Brueski and psychotherapist/author Shavaun Scott dive into the chilling psychology of Lori Vallow Daybell. From beauty queen and game show contestant to cult follower and alleged killer, Lori’s journey is packed with delusion, narcissism, and a little too much confidence for someone on trial for murder. They explore her manipulative nature, religious delusions, and the disturbing dynamic between her and alleged cult leader Chad Daybell—think less “meant to be,” more “shared psychosis with a body count.” What makes someone truly believe their spouse is a demon and deserves to die? And worse—how do they convince others to believe it too? #LoriVallowDaybell #TrueCrimePodcast #CultMentality #PsychologicalDisorders #MurderTrial #HiddenKillers #DarkPsychology Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Was justice actually served, or are we witnessing another case where the system seems to have its mind made up—facts be damned? Richard Allen is staring down 130 years in prison, but with his confession riddled with bizarre, impossible claims (like admitting to killing a grandchild that doesn’t exist), it's fair to ask—was this a real confession, or just the broken ramblings of a man driven to the edge? And why were other potential suspects seemingly ignored despite overwhelming evidence? Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to dissect how the justice system sometimes prioritizes narrative over truth. When prosecutors refuse to budge even in the face of new revelations, is it about protecting their egos—or something far more sinister? #TrueCrime #DelphiMurders #RichardAllen #JusticeSystem #Psychology #WrongfulConvictions #HiddenKillers Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? What really happened the night John O’Keefe died? Was it a tragic accident, a crime of passion, or something even more twisted? As Karen Read's trial looms, the recent HBO Max and Investigation Discovery documentary, Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read , peels back the layers of her story—though maybe not in the way she expected. Despite initially appearing to be a chance for her to set the record straight, the documentary raises even more questions about Read’s version of events. From inconsistencies in her statements to the murky details of her relationship with O’Keefe, it’s clear that nothing about this case is straightforward. One moment, she’s describing a deep connection with O’Keefe; the next, she’s downplaying their relationship altogether. And then there’s the eyebrow-raising flirtation with another man just before O’Keefe’s death—an insignificant detail, or a glimpse into a relationship unraveling? As the trial approaches, all eyes are on Read. Will the evidence clear her name, or will it expose a web of contradictions too tangled to ignore? #KarenRead #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #JohnOkeefe #CrimeDocumentary #InvestigationDiscovery #HBOMax Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Could Karen Read have really been involved in a cover-up, or is this just another case of conspiracy theories running wild? When alcohol, unreliable memories, and a mysterious late-night incident collide, the truth gets harder to pin down. In this episode, Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott dive deep into the murky details surrounding the alleged killing of John O'Keefe. Was it a tragic accident, or is there something far more sinister at play? With shifting narratives, questionable recollections, and a blogger-turned-investigator stirring the pot, the case takes a bizarre turn. Read’s defense claims O’Keefe was beaten inside a house and then dumped outside, but does that theory hold any weight? And what happens when a small-town case turns into a full-blown media circus, fueled by leaks and an obsession with finding the "real" culprits? And let’s not forget the unexpected twist—Read’s close relationship with a controversial blogger who allegedly went rogue, pushing theories and intimidating witnesses. Is this about justice, or has the case spiraled into something far more chaotic? At the heart of it all, one question remains: what really happened to John O’Keefe that night? #TrueCrime #KarenRead #JohnOkeefe #HiddenKillers #CrimeConspiracy #CourtroomDrama #JusticeOrCoverUp Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to sift through the contradictions in Read’s statements, her evolving portrayal of the relationship, and the bizarre dynamics at play. What makes a person look at Charles Manson and think, “Yeah, this guy seems like a great life coach”? For most of us, his wild-eyed ranting and swastika-scarred forehead scream “run,” but for his devoted followers, he was the ultimate guru. So how did this failed musician and career criminal convince a group of lost souls to commit some of the most infamous murders in history? Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to dissect the twisted psychology of Manson—his extreme narcissism, manipulative genius, and uncanny ability to prey on the vulnerable. Was he a true believer in his own Helter Skelter fantasy, or just an opportunistic con man who knew how to play the game? And more importantly, could anyone be pulled into a cult like his under the right circumstances? If Leslie Van Houten can get parole, can we ever really trust that someone has escaped the psychological grip of a cult? Or is there always a risk they’ll be selling Amway by the end of the week? #TrueCrime #CharlesManson #CultPsychology #MindControl #HiddenKillers #ShavaunScott #CrimeAnalysis Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
