Humans are bad at assessing risk that isn't happening to them in that instant. We're great at figuring out if we're in danger _right now_, but when it comes to theoretical problems we have real issues.
Filippo Marino spent his early life in high-risk military, security, and anti-crime adventures. He has since settled down and created a resource for professionals and civilians, which helps us accurately gauge where it's safe to travel, and where it's less safe...and what to do about those risks.
He talks to us about decision making and risk assessment for parents, so we can better keep our kids safe from the real dangers while not worrying so much about the stuff that's unlikely.
