It posits a future society where, once someone has gotten too old to be productive, they're shipped off to a farm upstate, where they can relax and enjoy their leisure time. For one year. Then they're executed. What a crazy concept! Fortunately here in the real world we would never place such an emphasis on productivity over human lives!
