A dreaded political reporter’s snapshot of David and Annie, dancing close in a near kiss, hits the newspaper and shocks his family and the Desmonds, causing a political uproar. Believing Annie will marry Howard Lasky, David is resigned to political action committees in D..C. until he gets a phone call from Howard that his proposal was rejected. Considering it another miracle, and to his mother’s outrage, David quits, goes to California, marries Annie and moves to Montana to raise horses, cattle and children, with her mother and the reporter married and living with them, and his retired father a frequent visitor.
