In this podcast episode, we explore having a Growth Mindset (Designer Mindset) and how to view life as seeing things in a way that you are not bad at something, but something you may be bad at now but can improve on over time through constant iterations.
Growth Mindset:
- "A growth mindset is “the understanding that abilities and understanding can be developed” (Mindset Works, n.d.). Those with a growth mindset believe that they can get smarter, more intelligent, and more talented through putting in time and effort."

Fixed Mindset:
- "On the flipside, a fixed mindset is one that assumes abilities and understanding are relatively fixed. Those with a fixed mindset may not believe that intelligence can be enhanced, or that you either “have it or you don’t” when it comes to abilities and talents."

Our definition of a designer mindset:
- Someone who takes personal responsibility for themselves and actively seek out to test out new systems/applications into their life with the goal of improving in a specified area. This is done by constant iteration, each iteration reflecting on the previous and designing a new iteration that is ideally better than the previous iteration.
