×Whoa. I got up bright and early this morning to post RSA, and was merrily away updating the site when I suddenly finished. Wait, I don't have to look up amazon links! This is almost liberating with how much less time its taking. This week we delve a little more into the whole amazon referrals, streaming, and a sudden revelation that a rule I made up and followed was really from the era of physical releases. But there's much less of me talking about myself and RSA this week. Guaranteed! In 2 weeks we'll be starting the membership drive, so next week we'll be reformatting the website a bit and starting a new list of supporters for 2025! But enough about that! Lets listen to some great EBM and techno beats! Any Second - Out Of Control Petros Spatharos - Datura Destroy Me Again - DMA (Matt Hart) Penetrate The Facade - Like Sand In Hand NECR0 - Cold Cut JG Outsider - Faith Virulents - Null Unit Cryptic Echoes - Decay Of Dreams http://synthetic.org/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
Its been a very event filled couple of weeks. I took last week off to recharge and reevaluate what I do with RSA. I was feeling a little irrelevant, as I wonder from time to time if well my time has come. Facebook has taken care of the first part. I was very frustrated with the "return" on tagging bands in the RSA posts. So I'm not bothering anymore. Generating Amazon links that aren't used is a big time sink for me. So thats stopped as well. Rather than get frustrated with the whole experience and walking away from it, I'm just cancelling the aspects that "don't bring joy." So while I do talk a bit this week in greater depth about this stuff, lets not forget the purpose of RSA! Getting great new music to you! State Of Anguish - Still The Same Destroy Me Again - Tomorrow Yohann Ko - UnVerso Clan OF Xymox - Blood Of Christ (Matte Blvck) Urban Matrix - Step Inside, If You Dare KRSSV - Protones Infected Sound Machine - Bad Pussy Future Lied To Us - Searching http://synthetic.org/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
I decided last night that I've sat on the Best Of show for 2024 too long. Lets get it out there so people can enjoy it! After painstakingly re-listening to every show from Dec'23 to Dec'24 I've come up with a list of I think were the best discs that passed through my hands in the last year. I always say its the hardest, yet most fun to do. A lot of listening, referring to notes I've made throughout the year, and then making some hard decisions. But I was quite happy that the stuff I had picked in my head as the year progressed didn't "fade" with each listen. I also took all of the "shackles" off and said "This show will be as long as it has to be." But it came in at about the same number of tracks and length as in most years. Its not about quantity, its about quality. So sit back and turn the volume up as we delve into the best of 2024! Negative Format - Molecular Stability Simon Carter - Fat One Neuroticfish - How To Suffer Nordika - Lost Generation Aiboforcen - Executions (Life Before Death) Mondtraume - Pictures Of You Ashbury Heights - Sleeping With A Knife Czarina - Exoskeleto Train To Spain - My Spirit Is Free (Janousek Club) Faderhead - Burn All Night (Electra Black) Massiv In Mensch - Lonesome Lighthouse DSTRTD_SGNL - Atmosfear Teknovore - Oubliette DHI - Chemical Land (1990 Mix Remastered) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
The last show before Christmas, and one more week until the 2024 best of show! I'm actually having real frustrating problems with Facebook now. Enough that if it wasn't for this show I'd be deleting accounts and groups and leaving the damn enshittified platform entirely. So looks like I'll be posting shit on my phone for the next few weeks while they figure out password recovery instead of sending people into looping menus. As always, show notifications are posted on BlueSky and Instagram as well. I also noted that ~300 emails have been "bounced" off the list, so who knows how people are finding this every week. Just subscribe with your favourite podcast app. But with frustration set aside for a moment, we've got some really great stuff for everyone, especially another Destroy Me Again track, as we got a lot of great positive feedback about the track we played last week! Antibody - Vampire Frog (Teknovore) First Aid Tech - Haute Tension AD:Key - Deine Augen (Dee Jay Pari) Conscience - Access Denied (Edit) Chris Shape & Su Eko - Closely Tight Interface - Winds From The West Destroy Me Again - Altered State (Rotoskop) Echodead - Out Of Control http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
I slaved over a hot hard drive for an extra long time this week! Not only do I have this weeks show done for you all, but I have the 2024 best of show mixed. December 30th is going to be a good day for everyone to try out their new devices with a nice long show. This week we have a lot of great stuff, including a remix/cover that was brought to my attention on BlueSky. Get ready for everything from Futurepop to Synthpop to Stompy aggro techno! Destroy Me Again - Unhappiness (Trance) Volkoff - Awaiting Wisborg - Kalt Wie Eis (Frozen Plasma) Future Lied To Us - Complex NeuroWulf - No Guiding Light Schwefelgelb - Open World Game Phase Fatale - Altars The KLF - What Time Is Love (Bastian's World) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
So I've looked at the calendar and gotten RSA all planned out to the end of the year. The annual best of show is coming along nicely, and Monday doesn't fall on any holidays, so I won't really need to take a week off this year. I think I've already taken my statuatory 2 shows off this year, so the next delay probably won't happen until April/May. Anyone speak Polish or Ukrainian? I'll be in Warsaw and Lviv around that time. This week we go through some new releases as I try to get the show posted before Europe has dinner and drinks! Frontal Boundary - Das Blut Infiziert PreEmptive Strike 0.1 - Pause In Chaos Stop The Madness (Single) DSTRTD_SGNL - Noise The Cohrsi - Fuhl Mein Herz (Desastroes) Darkness On Demand - Dust Simon Carter - Moondancer (Stefan Netschio) Interface - Zero Sum State Of Anguish - Down Here http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
Welcome to RSA episode #1415! I don't really keep track of stuff like that, every few years I'll check the spreadsheet and think "I've been doing this a while haven't I?" But it isn't inertia, I pretty much start every Tuesday on a new show and spend a few days listening to music. Its really not exactly what I'd call a hardship. Though I did realize that after last weeks extra long show, I have to start compiling the annual best of. I've gotten a good start on it, and am brainstorming ideas for the extra long theme show I always try to do during the membership drive. But we'll burn those bridges when we come to them. For now, enjoy early December! Echodead - I Don't Like Humans Solitary Experiments - Traumen (Neuroticfish) Lifelong Corporation - Into The Night Lights Of Euphoria - Surrender (Tunnel) Uncreated - We Will Attack (Grendel) Pulse Protocol - Heartbeats (Pulsating Orbital) Rue Oberkampf - Solitude (Essenz) Simon Carter - Let Me Sink In Shadows (District 13) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
So are you ready for a deep dive into the "oughties"? I think thats what the kids are calling the 2000-2011 time period these days. I'm not sure. Get off my lawn. But its been pointed out that I should do a special theme show where I focus on the first decade or so of RSA. While we started in 1998, I don't think the show reached its standard form until 2001. I think thats when we went for a straight "new material" focus as opposed to "whatever the hell I feel like" previous to that. So I spent a week or so getting a nice big list from the first 10 best of shows, and condensed them down to this theme show. I do try to get a superficial "Where are they now?" and give my thoughts, Maybe even an anecdote. But history is best left to historians. I just like to play music loud. So strap in for a very nearly 3 hour show, and lets see if we rediscover something together. Stromkern - Re-Align (Seabound) Exilanation - Infinity (Live Recorded) Nebula-H - Mobilis In Mobile The Crystalline Effect - When The World Ends (Blank) Interface - North Star Angel Theory - Black And Blue Backlash - Alter Ego Diskonnekted - After Einstein (Extended) State Of The Union - Fall From Grace Zentriert Ins Antlitz - Geschaeftsfrau Negative Format - Origins Auto Aggression - Das Nyquist Theorem Alien 6 - Ice Machine Bobby - So Many Scars (Dynamikk) Obscyre - Liebe Und Wahnsinn Mono Chrome - Sold Morph - Banish Me (DJ Shadow) Mechanical Horizon - Promise The Way (Tool Box) Lost Signal - Drowning Access Zero - Years Of Wasted Time Real Life - Oblivion (Nevarakka) Lost Area - Soulhunter (Accessory) Conetik - Cold Star (Dead Eyes) Syntax - Pray Informatik - Flesh Menagerie Culture Kultur - The Only One Oomph - Augen Auf Iris - Unknown (Sub Rosa) Monofader - Mimic Minerve - My Universe (Club) Necessary Response - Tomorrow (Edit) Fictional - Opportunities http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
We're now in the hom stretch for 2024. I'm getting very close to completing the last theme show for the year, a 3 hour extravaganza I'm calling "Project 2011". We're going to dive into the shows played ~20 years ago and see how much has changed, how many acts are still around, and whatever happened to... This isn't even mentioning that some time in the next 4 weeks I have to get the annual best of show compiled. But I do enjoy getting out extra long shows at this time of year so everyone can have someething new to play on their new devices on Christmas morning! Chains Of Agony - Munging (Tazento) Avarice In Audio - Coffin On The Dancefloor NeuroWulf - No Guiding Light Freunde Der Technik - Peng! Cryptic Echoes - Toxic Horizon Malwere - It's All About Honour Wisborg - Unter Menschen (Beyond Border) Chris Shape & Su Eko - Nada http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
This weeks show is dated for Monday, which is Remembrance Day in Commonwealth countries, and Veterans day in the USA. This year I think more and more about my Grandparents as veterans, but what strikes me the most is having visited both Berlin and London in my lifetime, each time I visited I'd look up and picture the sky and imagine it black with bombers, fire and smoke. Its unfathomable now. Lets just hope that it always stays this way. But to show how far we've come lets give multiculturalism a spin by listening to great music from around the world! Silicodisco & Bias - Primal Tension First Aid Tech - Tech Under Your Skin Phase Fatale - Lament Configuration Amnistia - Phoenix Rising Avarice In Audio - Faith Czarina - Dark Star Solitary Experiments - Every Now And Then (Machinista) Insect Skin - We Are Lost (Again) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
We've finally caught up with the rest of the world. Time change was last night in North America, the USA changed the date a few years ago, and when the US has a cold, we sneeze. I do want to say good luck to my American friends this week. The whole world is watching. Nervously. Hell, we're going to have our own turn at trying to keep the far-right out of a majority government here shortly enough. But lets block out the real world for an hour and listen to some great new music! Freunde Der Technik - Vielen Dank! E-Lektrotreib! - Aussergewehnlich Red Industrie - Forward (Extended) BlakLight - A Stranger Calls (Rework) Frontal Boundary - Shutting Down Martine - Black Noir (Mach Fox) Pulse Protocol - Heartbeats (Darkest Night) KRSSV - Trampa http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
I hope you're all ready for Hallowe'en! Only a few more days to go, and I've got to start hoarding candy for Thursday. For the kids. I swear. But I'm up at an ungodly hour on a Sunday to make sure the show gets posted nice and early. It's already 2pm in Europe and I've not even had my tea yet! But I have a strange way of thinking, I usually think about the folks who have donated and thus shared where in the world they live. I have to get it online before people in Edinburgh or Stuttgart get tired of waiting! I always put a face or two to tasks I do. But this week has got some great stuff with a little lean to the Techno Industrial! Our Graves - System Overload MALWERE - Along The Riverbank NeuroWulf - Havoc (ft. Smooth) Re.Mind - Free Your Liberty Destroy Me Again - Titan (Rob Dust) VOLKOFF - Belongs To Us AUDIOCALL - The Tower (Steril) Conscience - This Life (Nsm) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
This week I'm getting the show posted nice and early because its going to be the last 20c sunny Sunday, and I've gotta get outside and soak up some of that vitamin D. But this week we dive a bit into the growly aggro stuff that I do love playing, but I find I really only like the "exceptional" tracks. But with the number of talented people working on stuff like that, there's a fair bit of great stuff. This scene is a "big tent" and we have room for all! I'm also very pleased at finding a Reservation Dogs sample in the wild. I'm a trend setter! (lol) Device Noize - I'll Kill You (C-Lekktor) FabrikC - Take Control Chains Of Agony - Munging (Fezter) Freakangel - Crawling In The Dark (Eleven-FX) Frontal Boundary - Runaway Menschdefekt - Tears In The Rain (The Saint Paul) Revolt - Multidisciplinary Denial (Endless Nothing) Amnistia - Theory In Strings http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
Last week was a lot of fun. Its a lot more work, especially picking tracks, but the end result is a little gift for you all to enjoy! Now, this week is a lot more digestible but we've got a lot of great music including the first appearance on RSA for a number of acts. I hope we hear more great stuff from them all in the future! I'm also kinda sad to report that we're going to be looking for a new Merch vendor. Apparently the one that I had previously used has erected a 12 foot tall "Vote For Tr*mp" lighted sign. Sorry, homie don't play that. Not even on Christmas. So I'm looking for your help for what to do with the 2025 membership drive prizes. We need your input for! So listen to the show, and drop me a line! Wisborg - Berlin (Solar Fake) Rue Oberkampf - Solitude (Buzzkill) AUDIOCALL - The Tower (Fractal Age) The Russian White - We Disappear Dataman - Inner Sanctum Devil Machine - Speak With Me MALWERE - The Challenger DSTRTD_SGNL - Atmosfear (v1.0) The Cohrsi - Fuhl mein Herz (Ruined Conflict) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
I'm glad the realization that we haven't done a "Best of the best" since 2017. That gave me a good 7 years of best of shows to pick out my favourites, and a maybe give an overall view of the great music thats been released and continues to. Of course, I forgot how much work compiling something like this is, and the longer show means more work. But it was definitely worth it, and I hope this one gets a fair bit of play. So sit back and enjoy a couple of hours singing along with the stompy, growly, synthy, and the best part of all. Me rambling on! Entrzelle - Everyday Criminal Stabbing Westward - I am Nothing (Replicant 2121) Cubanate - Vortex Suppressor - Shaman (v.2) Soman - Blue Flame (Single) SD-KRTR - Rise (Aesthetische) Zynic - Free To Decide Lights Of Euphoria - Puppeteer (Popcorny) Menschdefekt - Secular Days (Rob Dust) TOY - The Darkness & The Light Kirlian Camera - Sky Collapse (Dancetronic) Red Cell - The Ladder (Xenturion Prime) Mondtraume - Free (Kant Kino) Culture Kultur - Refugee Solar Fake - Arrive Somewhere (Solitary Experiments) Elektrostaub - Wake Up (Culture Kultur) Ashbury Heights - Tomorrow Is Dead To Me Unity One - Reality Elegant Machinery - Wheels In Motion (Parralox) Dark-O-Matic - Zugzwang (Unity One) Psy'Aviah - Pretender (Device Noize) Solitary Experiments - Crash & Burn (SITD) Assemblage 23 - Bravery (Interface) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio…
