How do Gen Z Americans feel about democracy? The short answer: overall they believe in its principles, but don’t feel it’s working for them. In this episode, we explore unique ways that Gen Z is engaging in democracy (and not engaging), and what people of all ages need to do to encourage the next generation of peaceful leaders. Ruby-Belle Booth is a researcher with CIRCLE, the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University , where she graduated in 2021 . Ruby is interested in youth civic participation as a pathway for social, racial, and economic justice. She co-authored the report, “ How Does Gen Z Really Feel About Democracy? Insights from Three Profiles of Youth and Democracy ." Alex Edgar is a Youth Engagement Manager at Made by Us, a coalition of over 400 US museums that use history to inform and inspire civic participation among younger generations. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 2024. Learn more about Alex’s work at: www.historymadebyus.org Disrupting Peace is a production of The World Peace Foundation. Finding out that remains of a loved one ended up part of a museum collection without permission would be nothing short of shocking. An inquest into the actions of the University of Tasmania's RA Rodda Pathology Museum has found that's exactly what happened, not once or twice but for more than 25 years up until the 1990's. Featuring reporter Loretta Lohberger.…

Artificial Intelligence, it's here and it's here to stay. What impact is it having on young people ... is it helping them to learn smarter or risk kids outsourcing their brains?
In just over a week Tassie's parliament returns after an early snap election we could ill-afford, brought on by a no confidence motion. We're sort of back where we were, albeit with a few different faces. If minority government is the will of the people do they all need to grow up and make it work.
The proposed Marinus Link between Tasmania and Victoria is the biggest infrastructure project in the state's history. The Liberals have had the business case for the multi-billion undersea cable since before the state election was called ... but didn't share it with anyone.

Will politicians promises to ease the cost of access to childcare be enough to solve the industry’s broader woes? Featuring the ABC's Families reporter Fiona Blackwood.
