They sit down with Ms. Rosetta Woods to hear her story of surviving civil war in Liberia. Days before rebel forces took control of the city Rosetta was living in, she was victim of a brutal car crash that left her crippled and unable to care for herself. After fleeing a hospital that in a few short days would fall into the merciless control of the rebels, Rosetta managed to travel safely to her home. Shortly thereafter rebel forces made their way to her area. Rosetta and her family were drug from her house and lined up in front of a trench to face execution. With rifles pointed at her loved ones, Rosetta could only look to God for protection. It was then the rebels heard gunfire in the far distance and fled the area. This episode chronicles this part of Rosetta's testimony and so much more. On top of being a wonderful story teller, Rosetta shares her perspective as a survivor and relays what she believes truly matters in life. Drai shares about growing up in a family without spiritual foundation, where substance abuse and fighting were daily occurrences. Despite not having been introduced to Jesus, Drai was always drawn to pray. When he feared for his mother's safety, and later when he was a victim to sleep paralysis, he would instinctively come to the Lord in prayer. "God always showed up." When Drai had traumatic visions after getting high, when he experienced an exercise ball move on its own and start spinning in the floor in front of him, when he had a stranger walk in off the street and point a .357 at his head, God always showed up. BT shares his testimony finding himself in bondage to an entity that coerced him into performing self harm. When he was a teenager, his grandparents divorced and BT lost the only male authority influence in his life. Shortly after this, he began developing friendships with occult practitioners, and eventually began practicing various forms of pagan worship. Through these practices, he began developing a relationship with a spiritual entity. Not so coincidentally, it was also in this season of his life that he began cutting. At the age of 25, BT began to realize that the entity he had spent years interacting with was actually malevolent. It began pressuring him to not only cut himself, but to do it as an act of worship, and to ultimately inflict even greater harm to himself. At the age of 29, BT began praying that Jesus would intervene and send someone to invite him to church, and Jesus obliged. A man encountered BT at work and invited him to church… three times! BT became a regular church goer, eventually committing his life to Jesus and receiving water baptism. After that baptism, BT has never encountered that malevolent entity again. That milkshake began an adventure wherein the Holy Spirit guided Dave with step-by-step navigation to go and save a girl from falling victim to a horrendous crime. Dave grew up in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and shares memories of attending Mass services that contained miracles, healings, speaking in tongues, and he even shares his first experiences of falling underneath the power of the Holy Spirit. Those services left a mark on Dave, even as he rebelled against his upbringing and pursued living life his own way. Dave was an angry young man who walked with a chip on his shoulder. It wasn't until his lowest point, when his heart had been broken and his dreams crushed, that Dave finally surrendered his life to following Jesus. Once he made that decision, the Lord began using him in unusual ways, and he tells us all about it in this episode.
