Hello, I am Jephtha Malelah. A Kenyan author, poet, film maker, travel enthusiast, human rights campaigner and social worker. I am here to share with you my experiences growing up in Africa, travelling, creating art and working with communities. To tell the stories of young people working everyday to find their space in the world, stories of the older generation that lived in segregation and captivity, stories of hope. I hope to join in fighting prejudice and to find love and peace, I hope to dream and to achieve. This is for me and for you. Let us take the journey together.

×Here’s an open letter to the president of Kenya. The collective voice of the young people of Kenya, rings across the country. It’s an outcry for all punitive actions of your government against us. Don’t belittle our voices or call us outlaws, just listen. We are tired!
Is your mind your biggest friend and enemy all the same? Mine is and I lay it out bare to you, vulnerable. Here is why I have been riddled with doubt, fear and anxiety. But it all ends well, right? Listen in to find out😊
There was a time I raced across Tokyo Narita airport like a mad man, it was fun, not in that moment though😂. Then my friends Sandy, Angie and I survived a whole lot of turbulence on air. Tune in to hear all about it😅. Become a supporter of my work, sign up or email me at authorjephtha12@gmail.com
I recently lost a friend, a mother and a supporter. She was dear to me, to us. A lovely human being who loved with all her strength and was passionate about people and animals. This is one of the poems I wrote when I thought about how much I miss her. I know it is not the last I will write about her because there will never be enough pages to describe how much she meant to us. Rest easy Mama, till we meet again. Song Credits: The Piano Guys…
Welcome back! This episode is dedicated to fellow Kenyan youth. Youth people working hard and smart to survive a country whose systems keep getting dysfunctional by the day. Here are my thoughts... Photo by Tima Miroshnichenko from Pexels
My little sister's birthday was yesterday so I can't keep calm! Meanwhile, the world set aside today to create awareness around menstrual hygiene, all we can do is join in and learn, support local organizations and individuals who are doing an amazing job in the communities in creating awareness around menstrual health. A shout out to Atieno Oketch Foundation, Arise and Shine and Beth Odek, and all individuals working in the community. To support Atieno Oketch Foundation, send your contributions to Till Number 5660967 or contact +254715426574. Thank you.…

Mother's day came and we got to celebrate our amazing mothers. On this episode, I tell the story of my mother and how she was born into the oppressive regime of Uganda's Idi Amin Dada. She survived, alongside her family and escaped back to Kenya. Mama has turned out to be an amazing human and this is the first part of her story.…
I am not a DC universe fan but this film got me going. The story line, the action sequence, the picture, the characterization, all is done and delivered so flawlessly. The four hours of it is worth it. On this episode, I share my general thoughts on the film, I hope you enjoy. Thank you.
The Corona Virus pandemic and the lockdown in 2020 almost drove us crazy. We lost family and friends, we lost jobs, our freedom, we almost lost ourselves but if you are here, you survived it. I wrote this poem with past memories and future prospects in mind. I hope it encourages you to keep keeping on. Thank you. This amazing photo is by Benjamin Suter…
On this episode, I finally reach Arua, Northern Uganda before going back to Kampala and getting back to Kenya just days before the borders are locked down due to the COVID pandemic.
