"Is it really a New Year"? That's the question I find myself asking every 31st day of December when I see people "loose their heads" over what we deem a "New Year". Look around you and try to answer the question: "Is it really a New Year"? The obvious answer now and at every turn of the calendar is, "NO!!" The Year only becomes "New" for you if and when you choose to make it New! Mourning or Grief is the expression of deep sadness and pain over the loss of a loved one. It is perhaps the heaviest sense of loss anyone could go through. It takes you over - spirit, soul and body. While losing a loved one to death is on the highest spectrum of grief, we also experience a deep sense of grief over the end of a marriage, job and other things that give life meaning. I have spoken here about how my family grieved the loss of a loved one and how I came out of it. I hope it helps you to develop their own "plan of coming out". While grieving is important and necessary, it is as also important to have a plan to "rise again" , because grief keeps us down and locked up, and that is a very dangerous place to be - for too long.
