Journalist Katie Toth has been working on a project that links together multiple elements of her personal life and the world at large as we see it today. It's a journey that started with her move to Canada's subarctic, and it's a perspective that is easily missed. For so many, everything changed when Russia invaded Ukraine. It also shifted what is happening in the far North as we know it. We'll learn more about this unique "Cold Front" Toth has unravelled, and explore identity and geopolitics in this special episode.…

Expressing who you are through what and how you create is not necessarily a natural skill. São Paolo guests, Inès Schinazi and Dani Afonso, however, have it down to a science. The life and business partners are the creators of the Brazilian podcast drama series, "Chloé & Valentina," which they made, in part, for the sake of the female-led narrative. But who they really are runs deeper. Join us as we explore what being "100% Brazilian" means, how a hyphenated identity can be challenging, and what life is like in the Southern hemisphere.…
"Sinon, je chante et je joue du piano," ("Besides that, I sing and play piano") reads Beatrice Martin's Instagram bio. This is a true reflection of her humility; especially when held up against internationally sold-out shows, a six-album career, and a legendary presence on almost all social media platforms for over a decade. Best known as Cœur de Pirate, she's French, she's Canadian, she's a pop star, she's queer, she's a mom, she's acquired a company...and yes, she sings and plays piano, too. It is impossible to put Martin in a box with all of these identifiers and colours to her shining star quality. She joins us to talk about it this week on a special episode of anticulture.…
