×Before the NFL offseason creeps into its quietest season, we need to do one more check in with the Miami Dolphins' roster to see where the team could still plausibly be strengthened by bringing in additional free agent help. Aaron and Josh look around and determine which position groups need to most help and who might be candidates to sign with Miami ahead of the start of training camp later this summer. With the 2025 NFL Draft in the books for nearly a week, now seems like the perfect time for Aaron and Josh to get together and share their lukewarm takes about the Miami Dolphins' 2025 draft and UDFA classes. Do they like the picks the Dolphins made? Do they like the moves the Dolphins made to acquire them? How are things positioned right now? Aaron and Josh are back with these thoughts and a lot more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com! If there was any doubt that this Miami Dolphins offseason marked a transition from a team trying to compete for championships RIGHT NOW to a team trying to rebuild for the future, the news that the Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey are working together to find a new team for the future Hall of Famer should remove it. Chris Grier gave a tepid press conference earlier this week, trying desperately to spin the current situation, but it is unlikely that anyone is buying. The Dolphins' offseason is rapidly going off the rails, raising the question of just how far this team is from actually competing and leaving some people wondering whether there will be considerably more turnover in the months and years to come. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all of this AND do a seven-round mock draft for their beloved Miami Dolphins. The 2025 NFL Draft continues to get closer and closer and one of the consensus views of this year's draft class is that while it's not super top heavy, there is A LOT of value to be found on Day Two of the draft. With that in mind, Aaron and Josh are back to discuss how they think the Dolphins should approach the second of the 2025 draft's three days. But first they have to discuss the seemingly endless off-field drama involving Tyreek Hill, which resurfaced this week following a domestic dispute involving his wife, mother-in-law, and baby. As the dust begins to settle from the first wave of NFL free agency, a clearer picture begins to emerge in terms of what the Miami Dolphins' 2025 offseason plans are. As is typical, they avoided splashing out big money on big names and opted for the familiar refrain of looking for a bargain on high-upside players with injury histories. They also decided to bring some players on expiring deals back Some appear to be solid moves, but some have left Dolphins fans scratching their heads. Aaron and Josh are back to determine if the Dolphins are on the right course to improvement of if they are still on track to be...well, you can probably guess. What an absolute circus of clown shoes. The Miami Dolphins' 2024 season came to a close in appropriately embarrassing fashion on Sunday: by allowing Aaron Rodgers to look like his former self and pass all over them. Tyler Huntley looked inept and out of his depth. Mike McDaniel did too. It was just gross. And then, with Dolphins fans optimistic that changes would be made in the organization, Stephen Ross put out a statement that GM Chris Grier and Head Coach Mike McDaniel would lead the Miami Dolphins through the offseason and into the 2025 season. WELP! How could things get worse? Well how about a couple of your team captains putting on their prima donna pants and crying that they want to leave? Jalen Ramsey took to social media with cryptic posts, but Tyreek Hill was much more explicit in a postgame interview. And, of course, there's still the $230 million dollar question about Tua Tagovailoa. So what happens now? What do you do with the wreckage of this season? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

The Miami Dolphins did what they needed to do to keep their slim playoff hopes on life support on Sunday by defeating the Cleveland Browns 20-3. Tyler Huntley demonstrated an improved comfort with the team's offense and played better than in his previous appearances, leading the team in rushing along the way. Tyreek Hill had a bounce back game and Jonnu Smith equaled the franchise record for touchdowns in a single season by a tight end. The defense largely performed as you would expect them to against a subpar quarterback in Dorian Thompson-Robinson, bending-but-not-breaking and holding the Browns to three points on the day. Of course, many of the Mike McDaniel Dolphins' hallmark shortcomings were on display as well, but Miami is still better than this Cleveland team that is simply playing out the string and angling for the highest draft pick possible. While the win was important in terms of ensuring the Dolphins play a mathematically significant game in Week 18, the larger concern for the team was the absence of Tua Tagovailoa, who missed his fifth game of the season after a hip injury suffered two weeks ago in Houston and aggravated against San Francisco left him unable to participate in the eyes of the team's training staff. Tua's inability to be available didn't cost the Dolphins on this day, but there is uncertainty about his availability in Week 18 and it surely must be front of mind for this organization as it prepares for what will be a pivotal offseason, whether it begins next Sunday evening or later. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all of this and more on the 2024 calendar year finale of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

It's a Festivus celebration! The Miami Dolphins defeated the San Francisco 49ers 29-17, keeping their very faint playoff hopes alive for at least another seven days. It was one of the most complete wins of the season for the Dolphins, with the offense, defense, and special teams each contributing. But does a home victory over a mediocre 49ers actually change any of the existing narratives or future outlook for this team? If saw Stephen Ross on the sideline at the end of the game or in the locker room after the game, you would certainly think so. What do Aaron and Josh think? We'll find out as they react to the game and air their Festivus grievances on a very special holiday episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com! Barring a significant development, the Miami Dolphins will have their QB1 back in the saddle this Sunday afternoon. Tua Tagovailoa is progressing through the concussion protocol and was a full participant in practice on Thursday. In more worrying news, Tyreek Hill was limited with a foot injury. That could be anything, but it’s something to monitor. That aside, the Dolphins should be in position to bounce back from the largely dreadful offense they have executed over the last four games. Will Tua’s comeback put the team on a winning trajectory? Will the team’s defense slow down the athletic Kyler Murray and a potentially explosive Cardinals offense? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

On Sunday afternoon, the Miami Dolphins once again lost a football game because the passing game was largely ineffective, highlighting the flawed build of the team. There were also flashing neon lights pointing to Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier's negligence. They neglected to field a suitable backup quarterback after investing in an injury-prone quarterback. McDaniel neglected to create an offense capable of running without the centerpiece quarterback and neglected to suitably simply if in that quarterback's absence. Grier neglected to suitably address the WR3 position. Their negligence leaves the Dolphins 2-4 after 7 weeks. The team's only hope rests on the return of their injury-prone quarterback and that player being able to stay healthy and lead the team to a second half resurgence. Doubt abounds. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

Sometimes a win is a win, even when it's not terribly pretty. That's what the Dolphins managed to do on Sunday in New England, beating out a very weak Patriots team 15-10 behind 193 rushing yards on 41 attempts. While it took some time (and a concussion to Devon Achane), the Dolphins finally began attacking the Patriots with downhill runs and it proved to be very effective. In fact, what proved to be the game-winning possession was a seven-and-a-half-minute, 80-yard drive that ended with seven consecutive runs that covered the final 52 yards of the possession. Winning with a straight forward running game? Weird. There are still plenty of things to worry about with new injuries to Achane and Jevon Holland, but for today at least, the Dolphins are in the win column and the big picture panic can be put on pause. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com! It's been a nightmarish start to the season for the Miami Dolphins. After squeaking out a win in Week 1 against Jacksonville, the Dolphins have failed to even be competitive in the following three games, losing all of them. In the absence of QB Tua Tagovailoa, the team has crumbled. Mike McDaniel has failed to adapt and the team's backup quarterbacks have been underwhelming at best. Now they have lost Jaelan Phillips for the season...again. After another brutal loss on Monday at home against the Titans, the Dolphins head to Foxboro to take on the struggling New England Patriots. Will the Patriots be the medicine the Dolphins need to get their season on track? Or will Mike McDaniel remain stubborn and try to fit another square peg into a round hole? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss this and a whole lot more on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

It's hard to imagine things being much worse for the Miami Dolphins than they are right now. Their franchise quarterback is on IR with his third diagnosed concussion in 3 years and, in his absence, the team looks completely bereft of ideas. Their head coach remains stubborn, resistant to changing his game plan. What was meant to be a championship-caliber team now looks to be among the worst in the NFL. In the wake of the Dolphins' utterly embarrassing 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, it makes a lot of sense for Miami Dolphins fans to wonder what comes next and whether this is as bad as it can get. Aaron the Brain and Josh are back together to discuss on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
Welp. Tua Tagovailoa is on IR with another concussion. While this represents a significant blow to the hopes Miami Dolphins fans had for this season, there are still 15 games to play and everything the team wants is still there in front of them to have...if they can figure out a way to win without their QB 1. Aaron the Brain is back for a solo episode discussing how the Dolphins might manage to win without Tua. Then he looks at the Dolphins' upcoming matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, who look to be a bit better than a lot of folks expected them to be. Once again, the Miami Dolphins came into the national spotlight with a chance to change the narrative around themselves. On Thursday night, rather than change the narratives, they reinforced just about every negative narrative surrounding them. The Buffalo Bills came into Hard Rock Stadium and were more or less gifted the game. The Dolphins were sloppy and inconsistent. The quarterback made poor decisions. The head coach made poor decisions. The team looked flat out unprepared. And then, with the game having mostly slipped away, Tua Tagovailoa took matters into his own hands, scrambling for a first down and initiating contact with Bills safety Damar Hamlin. The result was the quarterback lying on the ground, going into the familiar fencing position that we have all come to recognize as a sign of a concussion. Tua left the game, along with Jeff Wilson, Robert Jones, and Terron Armstead, who all suffered from injuries as well. It was a disaster rolled into a nightmare, but it is the unfortunate reality. Where does the team go from here? Aaron and Josh discuss on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com.…

It wasn’t pretty. In fact, there were large stretches where it was downright ugly, but the Miami Dolphins dug deep and pulled out a 20-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their 2024 season opener at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday afternoon. After a slow start, Miami’s offense began to look like itself in the second half, with significant contributions from the usual suspects, namely Tua Tagovailoa, Devon Achane, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle. But there were other contributions as well, including some late tough runs by Jeff Wilson. There was also Alec Ingold running up the middle from the off-set I-formation to great success in short yardage situations, a testament both to Coach McDaniel and the offensive line. On the defensive side of the ball, Calais Campbell made an impact, as did Emmanuel Ogbah, and Jaelan Phillips. Of course, the biggest and most impactful play of the game came courtesy of Jevon Holland, who punched the ball out of the arms of Travis Etienne on a play that seemed destined to be a dagger in the Dolphins’ hopes of victory. Instead, it resulted in a game-changing turnover that propelled the Dolphins’ to a 4th quarter comeback victory.Of course, there are plenty of things to break down and worry about, including predictably worrying performances by the interior offensive and defensive lines. Jordan Power and Jalen Ramsey had moments that were worrying. But the fact remains that, despite playing a not-so-great game overall, the Miami Dolphins find themselves 1-0 and looking ahead to a huge divisional matchup with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss, react, and analyze on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm tellin' you why... Because there are still three Miami Dolphins football games left and we might as well enjoy them now before they're gone! Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy, and the San Francisco 49ers are coming to town for a game that doesn't mean nearly as much as we might have thought or hoped earlier in the year. Regardless, it's going to happen and Jim Nantz and Tony Romo are coming for the big CBS broadcast as well. Both teams are banged up. Both teams are unlikely to make the playoffs, though neither will officially be eliminated at kickoff. Who has the edge? In a development that should shock absolutely nobody, the Miami Dolphins FAILED to win a road game in December against a playoff-bound opponent. And the blame can be pointed at all the usual suspects. Their $230M franchise quarterback saved arguably his worst performance of the season for one of the biggest games. The WR1 whom the Dolphins traded premium draft capital to acquire once again disappeared, running incorrect routes and dropping passes. The shorthanded offensive line, which we were assured we were more worried about than the front office, was shredded. Once again, the Dolphins were softer and weaker than their opponents. Once again, the Dolphins were outcoached by their opponents. And once again, the Dolphins will complete a season of football without a postseason victory. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another episode of the ever-so-aptly-titled SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com.…
After defeating the Jets last week, the Dolphins head into the toughest remaining matchup on their schedule: a road date with the Houston Texans. the game provides the Dolphins with yet another opportunity to prove they can beat a playoff-caliber opponent on the road. Can they take advantage of it? Aaron and Josh are back to look at what is going to be a big test for a tired, beat up, and ultimately unproven Miami Dolphins team. Can the Dolphins' defense bounce back and slow down CJ Stroud? Will Bradley Chubb return to the field? Can the Dolphins' offense keep firing on all cylinders? Most Dolphins fans found themselves hoping for a relatively easy Sunday afternoon where they'd see their team smash the struggling New York Jets. After all, the Jets were beat up, out of sorts, and playing out the string of an absolutely catastrophic failure of a season. What they got instead was a hard-fought, back-and-forth football game that required some late-game heroics (and some fortunately timed game mismanagement) for the Dolphins to eventually make it over the finish line with a 32-26 victory in their penultimate home game of the season. Was this a gutsy victory for Miami that proves their mettle or was this just another Same Old Dolphins performance where they did just enough to beat a bad opponent and keep hope alive before eventually breaking their fans' hearts somewhere down the line? After a disappointing performance on Thanksgiving Night, the Miami Dolphins will be back in action on Sunday, taking on the team that has been a three ring circus wrapped in a tin foil hat and tossed into a dumpster fire: the Stinkin' New York Jets. With their own season teetering on the edge of disaster, the Dolphins need a big bounce back performance. Can they get a more consistent performance from their defensive unit? Can some of the younger players on the roster continue to develop? Can they get the victory that officially eliminates any lingering playoff hopes from the Jets? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW!…
Stop us if you've heard this one before: the Miami Dolphins, generating momentum with victories over bad and mediocre teams, had a chance to prove themselves a legitimate contender by taking on a quality opponent on the road in the winter on national television. Then, as if on cue, the Dolphins fell flat on their faces, looking confused and unprepared in the process. While they eventually found their footing, the damage was done and the Dolphins lost to the Green Bay Packers 30-17. So...now what? Aaron and Josh are back to react to the game and try to make sense of the final five games of the season for the Miami Dolphins. The Miami Dolphins CRUISED to victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday. It was the first time all season and perhaps since last November that things felt "easy" for the Dolphins, leaping out to a 31-0 lead early in the third quarter. From there, it felt like the Dolphins went into cruise control mode and things got a little sloppy on both side of the ball, but the Dolphins did what they needed to go and finished off a 34-15 win. The Dolphins now find themselves on a three-game winning streak with a 5-6 record heading into an absolutely crucial Thanksgiving Night matchup in Green Bay against the Packers. A win at Lambeau would bring the Dolphins back to .500 and, more importantly, be a statement that these are NOT actually just the Same Old Dolphins, but a team that could actually threaten to make a serious run at not just making the playoffs, but even possibly be a force to reckon with if they can make it there. It seems like it was in another lifetime when the Dolphins defeated the Patriots in Foxboro with Snoop Huntley leading the offense against Jacoby Brissett. Since then, the Dolphins have gotten Tua Tagovailoa back and their offense is rounding into form. The team is threatening to become a player in the race for the AFC playoffs. Meanwhile, the Patriots have moved on from Brissett and allowed their rookie QB Drake Maye to take the helm of the offense. Maye looks promising, but still has some maturing to do. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game and what the Dolphins must do to earn their third straight win, but before that, Josh sits down with returning guest Tico The Pats Fan to get his thoughts on what has been a very interesting stretch for the Patriots, Sunday's matchup, and the Miami Dolphins in general. The Miami Dolphins' offense was practically unstoppable as the Dolphins defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-19 on Sunday. Scoring on ever possession (except the very end of the first half), the team's offensive evolution took center stage. Not only did they take what the Raiders gave them, but Tua Tagovailoa was able to scramble and create plays off-schedule, a pair of characteristics that have been missing. Jonnu Smith had a career day. De'Von Achane continued to do De'Von Achane things. Odell Beckham, Jr. is getting more involved. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle remain a very dangerous receiving duo. The offense is really firing on all cylinders. On the defensive side of the ball, Calais Campbell and Zach Sieler remain wrecking balls, with Chop Robinson coming on strong as well. Unfortunately, Raiders' tight end Brock Bowers was basically unstoppable, so it's not all wine and roses for the Dolphins. Is this an encouraging sign? Are the Dolphins back in the race for a playoff spot? Are we back on the Kool Aid again? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all this and more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
After defeating the Rams on Monday Night Football, the Dolphins return home this week to take on the lowly Las Vegas Raiders, who come into the game on a five game losing streak, making them the coldest team in the NFL. Internally, Dolphins players and staff seem to believe that the return of Tua Tagovailoa has has a positive impact and that it is not beyond them to make a run at the playoffs, despite their 3-6 record. If that is really the case, it would seem that an absolute beatdown on the level of what the Dolphins were doing to subpar teams at the start of the 2023 season is in order. Can the Dolphins put in a complete performance and DOMINATE the Las Vegas Raiders? What does it mean if they can? What does it mean if they CAN'T? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
The Miami Dolphins flew across the country in need of a big win to attempt to right a sinking ship. They got perhaps their best defensive performance of the season and another positive showing from the offense (though not without some warts). The Dolphins will fly back across the country bringing a big road win with them and, regardless of how you feel about their chances the rest of the way, that is in and of itself a good thing. Aaron and Josh stayed up after the DolphinsTalk Xtra watch along to react to the game on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW!…
While the season has been long, grueling, and not at all what anybody has hoped for thus far, the Dolphins still have 9 games to go. Can the Dolphins continue with the momentum their offense has built over the last two weeks? Can the defense get its act together against a potent offense? Can the Dolphins pickup a west coast win for the second straight year? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

The Miami Dolphins played what was easily their best game of the 2024 season on Sunday in Buffalo. In fact, you could argue that it was the best game they've played in two and a half seasons under Mike McDaniel. It wasn't good enough. Despite of an excellent performance from Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins offense, the team fell short 30-27, losing on a 61-yard field goal in the game's dying seconds. The shorthanded defense again fell short, failing to stop Buffalo's offense from scoring in their final 5 possessions. Josh Allen did Josh Allen things and, when it seemed like they made the big play they needed, an undisciplined penalty gifted Buffalo a first down that provided to be the second chance they needed to put the game away. What are the takeaways from the game? What are the big picture implications? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
After a heartbreaking last-second loss to Arizona in Tua Tagovailoa's return in Week 8, almost all hope of salvaging the 2024 Miami Dolphins season went out the window. Now, the last vestiges of hope ride on Miami going into Buffalo and defeating the Bills on the road. To say optimism is low would be an understatement. With Aaron still traveling, Josh is joined by Kevin Dern of DolphinsTalk Weekly to preview the game and determine if there is any possible way the Dolphins can come home from Buffalo with a victory. The Same Old Dolphins Show

The Miami Dolphins received a big lift on Sunday as Tua Tagovailoa returned to the field. The Dolphins' offense immediately looked cohesive and functional. They moved the ball well in the air and on the ground, much like the famous song suggests. However, as has been demonstrated time and again, they are not a well-coached team. Sloppy mistakes stunted promising drives. The team's $200 million dollar quarterback fumbled a snap that hit him in the hands, resulting in a safety. And the defense, which had been praised by many for the deceptive stats presented over the season's first six games, was absolutely shredded in the second half. The coach, who successfully established the run early, once again shied away from it late in the game. Some will blame injuries. Others will chalk it up to a brilliant performance by Kyler Murray. But the fact is, the Miami Dolphins have once again failed to put together a cohesive, 60-minute demonstration of complementary football. The result is that the team currently sits with a 2-5 record, three games behind the first-place Buffalo Bills, who are looming as a dominant road opponent in Week 9. The vibes are bad and there's ultimately nowhere for these players and coaches to point the finger but at themselves. With Aaron preparing to move out of the state of Florida, Josh is joined by Kadeem Simmonds of Go Time Dolphins to discuss all of this and more on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
At long last, we have arrived. The offseason, the questions, the speculation, and the nonsense are behind us and we are finally – FINALLY – ready for meaningful regular season football! The Dolphins enter Week 1 with some injury questions, the biggest of which surrounds Jalen Ramsey. Meanwhile, their opponents, the Jacksonville Jaguars are as healthy as can be. Will the Dolphins' explosive offense come out guns blazing in Week 1? Will Anthony Weaver's defense be prepared to slow down the Jaguars' offensive weapons? With Josh (as listeners to yesterday's DolphinsTalk Staff Roundtable will remember) recovers from a brutal cold that has claimed his vocal chords, Aaron is joined today by Mike to preview the game and break it all down. It's the first GAME PREVIEW EPISODE of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com and it's gonna be a fun one!…
Now that the Dolphins' preseason is behind us and the team's 53-man roster is beginning to take shape, the eyes of every Dolfan are shifting towards the regular season to come. It is a season of opportunity, with the Buffalo Bills rebuilding on offense and the Jets and Patriots still with a number of question marks of their own. The Dolphins, who have taken a step back in some ways themselves, are still positioned to make a serious run at the AFC East. Can they finally win the division, host a playoff game, and/or maybe even win one? The Miami Dolphins defeated the Washington Commanders 13-6 in their second preseason game and learned more about several players who are competing for the last few roster spots. The Miami Dolphins received some very good news on Monday; Jaelan Phillips is being activated off the PUP list. This provides a huge lift to the team's new look defense. NFL Free Agency is off and running with big names moving to new teams with some eye-popping contract numbers. For the Miami Dolphins, it was particularly bittersweet as the team said goodbye to several homegrown players including DT Christian Wilkins and G Robert Hunt. But, as he so often does, Chris Grier set to work bringing in replacements on smaller, more team friendly deals. New Miami Dolphins include TE Jonnu Smith, LB Jordyn Brooks, S Jordan Poyer, LB Shaquil Barrett, C Aaron Brewer, LB Anthony Walker, CB Siran Neal, and DTs Daviyon Nixon and Isaiah Mack. Additionally, the Dolphins have re-signed RB Salvon Ahmed, G Robert Jones, CB Nik Needham, CB Elijah Campbell, and P Jake Bailey. Among the players the Miami Dolphins will need to make a decision on is OLB Andrew Van Ginkel. The man they call AVG has really come into his own over the past two seasons and filled in admirably when the Dolphins lose Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb. With both of those two players likely to be missing or not 100% at the start of the 2024 season, can the Dolphins afford to pay his rumored asking price to keep him around? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss what the Dolphins may do. Miami Dolphins Defensive Tackle Christian Wilkins made a bet on himself by refusing what was the Dolphins' last and best offer to sign him to an extension prior to the start of the 2023 season. It was a bet he absolutely won. Wilkins put in his best season to date and, alongside Zach Sieler, was the foundation of the defensive scheme implemented by Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio. Now, things have changed. Fangio and the Dolphins have "mutually agreed" to part ways and the Dolphins are left with two big decisions: Who will be their new defensive coordinator and what will they do with Christian Wilkins, whose contract is up and who is certainly due or a big pay day. Tua Tagovailoa just had the best year of his career, leading the NFL in passing yards and ranking ear the very stop in several other statistical categories. Since his debut in 2020, there has been steady improvement in his overall play. These two statements are indisputable. However, for the fourth straight season, Tagovailoa played his worst football during the crucial stretch of games in December and January – the time when the best teams and the best players are starting to hit their stride. It is this tendency to come up small in the biggest moments that puts the Miami Dolphins in a bit of a dilemma. Tua is about to enter his fifth season and it currently owed $23.1 million dollars after the team picked up his fifth year option prior to the 2023 season. Should the Dolphins extend Tua? Should they have him play the 2024 season on his current deal? Or should the Dolphins actually consider other options at quarterback? The Miami Dolphins' 2023 season has come to an end. It was perhaps appropriate that the final chapter of this season was written in the coldest game in franchise history because the Dolphins once blistering hot offense finished off the season ice cold. Meanwhile, the Dolphins's shorthanded defense fought valiantly, but simply couldn't do enough against a Kansas City Chiefs team and an elite quarterback in Patrick Mahomes that seemed completely undeterred by the elements. It was a familiar performance in a season that ended up feeling all too familiar to Dolphins fans of a certain vintage. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game and where the Dolphins go from here on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

After 18 weeks of ups and downs, highs and lows, we have arrived at the NFL Playoffs. Previous wins and losses no longer matter. Now, it's win or go home. For the Miami Dolphins, the final month of the season was particularly rough, costing them their chance at a divisional crown and many of their key players. Of course, none of that matters now. The fact is that, as beat up as they are, the Miami Dolphins are still one of only 14 teams left standing with an opportunity to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. While the odds are long that the Dolphins can overcome their injuries, they remain in the fight for at least one more game. They'll face a familiar foe: the same Kansas City Chiefs team that defeated them earlier this season in Germany. Can the Dolphins find a different result this time? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all of this and more on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

The Miami Dolphins found themselves in a great position thanks to early season success only to squander their opportunity to win the AFC East and potentially play multiple playoff games at home. The Bills remain the boogeyman the Dolphins just cannot defeat and the Dolphins stumble into the postseason on the back of two consecutive defeats. The narratives are getting louder about the team, the head coach, and the quarterback. Is there any hope for a rebound? aron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com.…

We always kinda had a feeling it was going to come down to this. The Miami Dolphins host the Buffalo Bills at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 18. The winner will be the AFC East Champion and the 2 seed in the AFC playoffs. The loser will likely end up as a wild card in the #6 seed but, if it's the Bills, there's a chance their season could be over. In Week 4, the Bills walloped the Dolphins 48-20, a humbling defeat the Dolphins bounced back nicely from..at least until losing 56-19 in Baltimore last week. Can the banged up Dolphins end the Bills' hot streak and look forward to hosting their first playoff game in 15 years? Will the Bills continue their dominance over the Dolphins? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss what's at stake and how things could play out on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

The Dolphins have squandered yet another opportunity to make a statement on the road in December against a legitimate opponent. If that were the only takeaway, it wouldn't be so bad. But it's much worse than that for the Miami Dolphins. Not only were they completely dismantled by one of the best teams in the NFL, but they came up small and suffered two consequential injuries that have severely dampened their hopes for the 2023 season. It was much worse than a 56-19 loss – it was a failure on all fronts. Aaron and Josh are back to react and assess where things stand on another episode of (the still apparently aptly named) THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com.…
On the heels of their biggest victory of 2023, the Miami Dolphins head to Baltimore with an opportunity to do a number of things: they can clinch the AFC East title for the first time since 2008, ensure a top 2 finish in the AFC, and give themselves the opportunity to play for a first round bye in Week 18. A win would also be a second signature win in as many weeks for the Dolphins. Of course, it won't be easy. The Baltimore Ravens are coming off of a resounding victory on the road against the team many people thought was the best in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers. Baltimore's QB, Lamar Jackson, is playing MVP-caliber football. Baltimore's defense is one of the toughest units in the league. Can the Dolphins conquer the Ravens and make their own case to be a Super Bowl favorite? Aaron and Josh are back together to discuss on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

With Josh having to sit this episode out, Mike sits in with Aaron the Brain on this episode of The Same Old Dolphins Show. On today’s show the guys discuss the latest episode of Hard Knocks and the message Mike McDaniel gave the team after the difficult loss to the Titans. Aaron and Mike were both impressed with how McDaniel spoke to the team and his message. Then, they both dove into this weekend’s big game between Dallas and Miami. They spoke about who needs this game more, Miami or Dallas, and how they think it will play out on the field.d Who has the edge on both sides of the ball, and they gave their score prediction. And, yes, as always….they gave their ONE HOT TAKE!…
The Miami Dolphins answered the bell. After a brutal loss to the Tennessee Titans, the Dolphins bounced back with a completely dominant victory over the New York Jets. With injuries on the offensive line and to Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins found other ways to win, combining quick passes and cleverly designed running plays with a key deep shot to Jaylen Waddle to provide the offensive spark they needed. They also received an assist from their defense, which bounced back in a big way following their collapse on Monday night. The Jets' offensive line became a series of turnstiles in the face of a mighty Dolphins pass rush. The Dolphins' linebackers and secondary, depleted as well, stepped up and held the Jets to an historic level of offensive futility. While results elsewhere didn't quite work out to the Dolphins' ultimate advantage, the fact remains that the Dolphins control their destiny in the AFC. Aaron and Josh are back to react and discuss on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
***WARNING! PROFANITY ABOUNDS!*** It's time to turn the page. After a nightmarish loss to the Titans and a very rough few days, the Miami Dolphins have an opportunity to bounce back against the visiting New York Jets. Of course, there will be lingering effects from Monday Night's loss: Connor Williams is out for the year with a torn ACL. Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane are battling nagging injuries. Liam Eichenberg reportedly has a calf injury. DeShon Elliott remains in the concussion protocol. The injury report is growing and growing. This is where the rubber meets the road. Can Tua Tagovailoa bounce back from an underwhelming performance behind a makeshift offensive line? Can Mike McDaniel quiet the growing criticism that he can't scheme up a victory when Plan A doesn't work? Is this Miami Dolphins team actually built differently or are they still just the Same Old Dolphins? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all this and more on another episode of, you guessed it, THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

***WARNING! THIS EPISODE CONTAINS PROFANITY.*** There's no way around it. The Miami Dolphins suffered one of the most painful defeats in recent memory on Monday night against the Tennessee Titans, blowing a 14-point lead in the final three minutes of a game they had been handed on a silver platter. It was an overall terrible night for the Dolphins, who reportedly have now lost center Connor Williams for the season Additionally, Tyreek Hill's potential MVP season may have been derailed as he suffered an ankle injury. He showed incredible grit and determination to come back into the game, but he wasn't the same player. Meanwhile, the Dolphins' banged up defense faded down the stretch, allowing rookie QB Will Levis to put his team on his back and lead them to victory. Tua, playing behind a makeshift offensive line and mostly without his best offensive weapon looked like a shell of the player we've seen throughout the season. Mike McDaniel's playcalling and game management is also being called into question again. It was a dire performance all around. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it on what will surely be an emotional episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
When the Miami Dolphins' 2024 schedule was released, a Monday Night Football date with Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans looked like an exciting proposition. Months later, an injury to RT17 and a rough season in Music City has the fixture looking like a very different affair indeed, Will Levis is now the Titans' start with Tannehill on the bench, veteran running back Derrick Henry appears to be on his last legs, and Deandre Hopkins is playing out the string of his career, Does that mean this will be another walk in the park for the Miami Dolphins? Perhaps not. The Titans have frustrated opponents all season long and ave proved particularly effective at stymieing even the most potent rushing attacks. Will the Dolphins' explosive offense be able to neutralize the Titans' efforts? Will the Dolphins defense feat on the rookie QB? Aaron and Josh are back at it to discuss these questions, Austin Jackson's contract extension, and a whole lot more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…

On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins delivered one of their most complete performances of the season against the Washington Commanders. Buoyed by the return of De'Von Achane, the offense jumped into action immediately and never let up. The defense, playing their first full game since Jaelan Phillips was lost for the season, showed strength and steadfastness. Andrew Van Ginkel played big, coming up with a pick six, and Duke Riley filled in admirably for Jerome Baker, who suffered a first half knee injury. It was, in many ways, exactly what Dolphins fans would have wanted to see the team do. Aaron and Josh are back together to look at the game and break down how they did what they did, where they go from here, and Tua Tagovailoa's appearance on the Manningcast. It's another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
The Miami Dolphins look to solidify their lead in the AFC East and resume normal service of blowing out inferior opposition as they take the Greatest Show on Surf to the nation's capital for a Week 13 matchup with Sam Howell and the Washington Commanders. Can the Dolphins dominate once again on both sides of the ball? Will Sam Howell's gunslinger mentality trouble the Dolphins' defense? Can Tua fix his growing turnover problem? Will JPP make his Dolphins' debut? Will De'Von Achane return to action? Aaron is out of action this week, so Josh is joined by Mike Oliva to discuss all of this and more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
That ended up being pretty dang easy. The Miami Dolphins cruised to victory, 34-13 over the moribund New York Jets on Black Friday, but lost Jaelan Phillips to a torn achilles. Terron Armstead also left the game early due to a quad injury. Other than those two injuries, it was largely a very good day at the office for the Fins. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game and its ramifications – plus the signing of Jason Pierre-Paul – on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
Aaron and Josh return with their final pre-Thanksgiving show to preview the Dolphins' Black Friday matchup with the New York Jets in the Meadowlands. The Jets will be in desperation mode, changing QBs on a short week in an effort to keep their season afloat long enough to perhaps allow their knight in shining armor, Aaron Rodgers, to return and lead them to a postseason run. Can the Dolphins' defense stay red hot? Can the Dolphins' offense finally click on all cylinders against a top tier defense? Who will be the key players to watch? Plus, the guys share their thoughts on the season premiere of Hard Knocks In Season, which will be following the Miami Dolphins as long as their 2023 season lasts. They also share some Thanksgiving takes and what they are thankful for this year. Oh yeah...they're also gonna sing the song. Join us for all of this and more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
A win is a win is a win. On a day where the Miami Dolphins' offense demonstrated some uncharacteristic sputters, their defense came up huge, carrying the team to a 20-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Big performances from Bradley Chubb, Jalen Ramsey, and many more highlighted yet another strong performance from a defensive unit that it starting to find its groove. The win lifts the Dolphins to 7-3 and maintains the team's two-game lead over the Buffalo Bills in the race for the AFC East title. And while the offense seemed out of sync, it still put up over 400 yards. It was a win that leaves the team with some things to clean up ahead of their Black Friday trip to the Meadowlands to take on the beleaguered New York Jets. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss this and so much more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
After a BYE Week, the Dolphins find themselves with a two-game lead inside the AFC East heading into their Week 11 matchup vs the Las Vegas Raiders. Mike and Aaron preview this Sunday's showdown at Hard Rock Stadium. They go over which players are returning from IR and which players were let go to make room for them on the roster; they discuss if this is a trap game for Miami as they are such big favorites this week, and they forecast where Miami falls in the landscape of the AFC East and AFC heading into the second half of the year. They also have their #OneHotTake and thoughts from the listeners. Tune in for another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW!…
Once again the Miami Dolphins had an opportunity to change the narrative surrounding them and demand to be taken seriously as a contender and once again they fell short. This time it was a woeful first half and series of self-inflicted wounds that ended up costing them. Bad playcalling, poor execution, and sloppy penalties were most of the cause, though credit should be given to Kansas City's defense, which disrupted the Dolphins' timing. The Dolphins would eventually play themselves back into the game behind a stellar effort from their defense, but when you dig yourself a hole, you give yourself little to no margin for error and the errors were quite prominent on their final two offensive snaps. Aaron and Josh are here to react, respond, and provide some copium for a very emotional fan base that still finds itself heading into the bye week, in spite of a rough Sunday morning, cheering for the team in first place in the AFC East. Here we go! When the Dolphins' 2023 schedule was released, a lot of people immediately zeroed in on this game as one with significant AFC playoff implications. Now Week 9 has arrived and, as expected, it absolutely does. The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins are currently first and second in the AFC power structure. The winner of this game will make a powerful statement that the road to the Super Bowl comes through their stadium. The Dolphins are coming off another solid, if not truly complete, victory over the Patriots, while the Chiefs are coming off a surprising loss to the Broncos. How can the Dolphins keep Mahomes and Kelce in check? Can the Dolphins offense get back on track against an aggressive, blitz-happy defense? Will we finally see the Dolphins run out their top three weapons in the secondary? Will Connor Williams and Terron Armstead return? How will their returns or absences impact the game? Aaron and Josh are joined by special guest David Bearman of Pro Football Network to preview what just might be the most consequential game of the season so far. It's another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!…
Well...they've done it again. Once again, the Miami Dolphins faced inferior opposition and once again, the Miami Dolphins picked up a big dub.
