Mike, how did you approach scripting this series? Were there any unique challenges in translating a concept that started with Thomas and David James Kelly into something that fit the comics medium? Characters & Themes Horror often reflects deeper themes—survival, fear of the unknown, or even human nature itself. What inspired this approach, and what does it reveal about Wally’s character? Jeff, you've tackled deeply personal, introspective stories before. How does Absolute Flash balance superhero spectacle with the kind of emotional storytelling you're known for? Nick, this series presents a unique visual challenge since Wally doesn’t have the Speed Force in the usual sense. How did you approach illustrating motion, speed, and kinetic energy differently? The father-son dynamic seems central to the story. What can you tell us about the relationship between Wally and his father, and how it shapes the narrative? The Absolute line lets creators tell more standalone, auteur-driven superhero stories. What freedom did that give you in shaping this take on Wally West? Wally is often portrayed as an optimist. Without his usual safety nets, how does his personality shift in this story? Can you tease anything about the “nefarious forces” chasing Wally? Are these familiar faces from Flash lore, or entirely new threats? Favorite rogues? What do you hope Absolute Flash adds to Wally West’s legacy as a character? With Absolute Flash, Absolute Wonder Woman, and Absolute Batman all reimagining these heroes in bold new ways, if Wally had to team up with the Absolute versions of Diana and Bruce, what would their dynamic be like? Who’s the most intimidating, and who’s the most likely to crack a joke?…

Assorted Crisis Events explores a world where time is breaking down, leading to unpredictable scenarios. What inspired you to delve into the concept of time's fragility and its impact on everyday life? The anthology format allows for diverse storytelling. How do you approach crafting each issue to ensure it offers a unique yet cohesive experience within the overarching narrative? Ashley, introduced in issue #1, is a relatable character amidst the chaos. Can you share more about her development and the role she plays in grounding the story? Collaborating with artists like Eric Zawadzki brings a distinct visual style to the series. How does his artistic vision complement your storytelling, and what has the collaborative process been like? The series blends various genres and time periods. How do you balance these elements to maintain narrative coherence while keeping readers engaged? In previous discussions, you've mentioned the importance of density in storytelling. How do you ensure that each page is packed with meaningful content without overwhelming the reader? The theme of normalizing chaos is prevalent in the series. How does this reflect contemporary societal issues, and what message do you hope readers take away from it? If you could witness any historical event firsthand, which one would you choose, and how might it inspire a future story in Assorted Crisis Events ? You've crafted 20th Century Men and The Ultimates . How has your experience with those projects influenced your approach to Assorted Crisis Events ? How is it juggling multiple books? In The Ultimates #10, the Red Skulls—a neo-Nazi group—appropriate the Punisher's iconic skull logo. What motivated you to intertwine these specific symbols, and how do you perceive their combined significance within the narrative? Given your focus on individual character narratives, are there contemporary societal issues you aim to explore through specific characters in future issues? In Absolute Martian Manhunter, you've described the series as a "radical reinvention" of the character, blending psychological horror with superhero elements. Could you elaborate on the creative challenges and freedoms you've encountered in crafting this narrative within DC's Absolute Universe?…

How do you balance those tones without losing the story's core message? The concept of Monkey Meat Island explores hyper-capitalism and corporate exploitation in surreal ways. What new angles or themes are you excited to explore in The Summer Batch ? You describe Monkey Meat as a comic where you can "shed corporate expectations." How does that creative freedom shape the way you approach each issue or story? This new arc takes a summer magazine format with games and multiple tales per issue. Characters and Worldbuilding From superhero monkeys to debt-collecting witches, the characters in Monkey Meat are wild and wonderfully diverse. Are there any new characters in The Summer Batch you're particularly excited for readers to meet? In previous issues, the Monkey Meat Company has a huge impact on the local, magical fauna. Dave : The Ultimates #10 ( Mateus Manhanini ) CJ : The Terminator #5 ( Declan Shalvey ) Interview : Tyler Boss You’ll Do Bad Things #1 out March 26, with artist Adriano Turtulici What inspired you to blend the true crime genre with the pulpy, neon-soaked aesthetic of Giallo films in You’ll Do Bad Things ? How did the concept of a true crime writer whose fictional murders start happening in real life come to life? Was it your own writers block? Can you describe the creative journey behind developing Seth Holms as a character struggling to write a happy ending? The comic is described as a "love letter to the Italian slasher genre"—how have films like those of Dario Argento influenced your storytelling and visuals? 13 How do you balance the elements of horror, gore, and B-horror camp with a critique of our cultural obsession with true crime? I really liked how, in a scene set in the narrative, you call back to the fact we’re in the story within the story via lettering, was that in the script or Hassan’s idea? With He Came in with a Smile as a backdrop, how does Seth’s past impact the unfolding narrative in this new miniseries? What are some of the challenges you faced while infusing both literary and cinematic influences into a cohesive comic book experience? In what ways do you hope readers engage with the commentary on true crime fandom as they dive into this dark, twisted world? If you discovered that your own stories were coming to life, which character from 'You'll Do Bad Things' would you least want to encounter in a dark alley, and how would you try to escape their clutches?…

Interview: Matthew Rosenberg We're Taking Everyone Down with Us #1 out March 26 (FOC March 3) Artist Stefano Landini Colorist Roman Titov Letters Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou Story and Themes We're Taking Everyone Down With Us blends super-spies, mad scientists, and robots with themes of family and revenge. What drew you to this mix of genres and how did it shape the story’s tone? Annalise’s journey is centered around two big choices—revenge or normalcy. What inspired this core conflict, and how do you balance her emotional arc with the high-stakes action? Favorite James Bond? You’ve worked on grounded crime stories like 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank and more fantastical ones like What's the Furthest Place From Here? . How does We're Taking Everyone Down With Us build on or depart from those previous works? Family seems to be a recurring theme in much of your work. What’s unique about the father-daughter relationship in this story? Characters and Development The story leans into some wild concepts—super-spies, futuristic tech, and global domination. Were there any particular influences from spy fiction, sci-fi, or pop culture that helped shape these elements? Process and Legacy You've mentioned this story turned out funnier and more heartfelt than you originally planned. Were there any moments during the writing process where you surprised yourself with how the story evolved? With your earlier work, like 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank , now being adapted into a film, how do you think your storytelling has changed or evolved over the years, and how does We're Taking Everyone Down With Us reflect that growth? Fun/Silly Question If Annalise’s robot bodyguards were to pick a theme song for their revenge mission, what song would they choose and why? DC vs. Vampires Questions Switching gears to DC vs. Vampires World War V, we already spoke wayyyyy back in August about the series before it launched, but with the special DC vs. Vampires: World War V – Darkness and Light #1 and essentially half the maxiseries out, (#7 out Mar 12th, 2025), how are you digging the fan reaction? With "DC vs. Vampires: World War V – Darkness and Light #1" releasing this week, Are there themes or messages you're particularly excited to explore in this installment? Alfred is becoming more or less the “good” guy main character, Can you discuss the psychological and moral complexities you aimed to portray in Alfred as he navigates his new identity as a GL? If DC vs. Vampires was made in 2026 riffing off the Absolute Universe, how would it be different? Anything you could tease for the second half of this series?…

Luigi, you’ve worked with Wyatt long enough to have plenty of banter about "bizarre demands." Can you describe a moment where Wyatt’s vision challenged or inspired you to take the art in an unexpected direction? The series mixes playful moments with genuine horror. For both of you, what’s your approach to balancing these tones, and are there horror or non-horror works that directly influenced this? I gotta ask, nudity in this title is a curious one. Sometimes we see things, sometimes genitals are covered up, what gives?! The series takes place across both mundane and fantastical locations—Estonia’s cold landscapes and Las Vegas’s vibrant excess are especially highlighted in Nights #13. You’ve mentioned exploring how people view and treat Asian women. What message or conversation do you hope Camgirl sparks in readers regarding this cultural obsession and the dangers it brings? Camgirl is framed as a psychosexual thriller. How do you balance the psychological tension and erotic elements to keep the story compelling and meaningful? How do you balance his intellectual, manipulative side with his more overt, imposing displays of power in this series? Vision and Timing: One World Under Doom has been in the works since 2023 and I can’t help but think this was made to be read with a new U.S. president shaking things up, am I way off base with this feeling? The Sorcerer Supreme Element: Incorporating Doom’s newfound status as Sorcerer Supreme super charges the villain yet we know we can’t have characters running around like gods… are there chinks in his armor you’re weaving into this story so that the heroes have a chance to defeat him? Squirrel girl fans must know, will she be a key component of your event? World-Building: Latveria has been shut away for some time, with it seemingly opening up in the first issue, how important to this story are any societal shifts or cultural dynamics spinning out of Doom taking over everything? Character Reactions: The Avengers and Fantastic Four have faced Doom countless times, yet Doom has been hidden away for some time, does that influence their emotional responses with Doom’s new global domination? The Mystery of Power: The series teases a mystery about how Doom convinced the world’s leaders to accept his rule, and it sort of reminded me of WWI, without giving away spoilers. Were you looking at any historical moments for inspiration to kick off his rule? Visual Storytelling: R.B. Silva’s art is a standout feature of the series, and likely he stuns consistently as I saw with issue #1, but do you have any Silva high water mark moments in any specific issues? Silly Question: If Doctor Doom were to design a reality TV show in his new United Latveria, what would it be called, and who would be its target audience?…

What inspired the decision to begin this new "Rebuild" era, why now? How do Radiant Black #31 and Rogue Sun #25 serve as jumping-on points for new readers? For Kyle (Radiant Black): With Marshall now fully stepping into the role of Radiant Black post-Catalyst War, what unique challenges will he face, both as a hero and as a person, in this new chapter? For Ryan (Rogue Sun): Aurie’s sudden emergence as a second Rogue Sun in issue #25 raises plenty of questions. Can you tease a bit about her background and how her relationship with Dylan will evolve? Why didn’t you renumber with #1 issues? For both: The theme of legacy plays a big role in both Rogue Sun and Radiant Black. How does the idea of who "deserves" to be a hero shape the stories you’re telling in this new era? Massive-verse movie I Am No/One update? Fun question: If Marshall and Dylan were forced to swap cities — Marshall in New Orleans and Dylan in Chicago — who would handle the switch better, and which city’s villains would give them the most trouble? Kyle I’d be remiss not to ask: Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse, anything you can tease?…
Check out a smattering of the questions asked in this interview below. What sort of themes are you juggling in Seasons? What inspired you to weave these themes together, and how do they relate to the broader human experience? How did you approach building the world of Seasons , and what were some of the unique challenges in creating a story set across different landscapes and "seasons"? Your work often includes flawed and complex protagonists. What can readers expect from the characters in Seasons ? You’ve collaborated with many artists over the years. What drew you to work with Paul Azaceta on this project, and how does his style complement the story? Something so endearing about the first issue is how it seems quite ordinary, yet subtle things like a guy with a jetpack reveal there’s more to this world. How do you balance showing too much or showing just enough? If you two were thrown into the world of Seasons, which of you would last the longest, and what ridiculous strategy would you use to survive? So what's The Seasons about? Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn are the Seasons Sisters, the daughters of the world-renowned Seasons Detectives. Ten years ago, their famous parents disappeared. Left to raise themselves, the sisters formed an unbreakable bond. Now that bond is tested as the sisters fall prey to sinister forces. The youngest sister, Spring, is the last hope of saving them from a fate worse than death. Will Spring be able to piece her shattered family back together before it’s too late for them all? RICK REMENDER (BLACK SCIENCE) and PAUL AZACETA (OUTCAST) weave an elevated tale of whimsical horror unlike anything ever experienced in comics and it all starts with this double-length premiere issue!…

What inspired her design and characterization? Diana’s sacrifice Wonder Woman made the ultimate sacrifice last issue, cutting off her arm to set Steve free. Can you talk about what went into making such a bold decision? Exploring Diana’s Loss The solicit for issue #4 mentions that Diana pays a price she can’t bear. Without giving away spoilers, how does this loss shape her emotionally and strategically moving forward? Collaboration Between Writer and Artist How do you work together to bring Diana’s sacrifices and triumphs to life, especially in such emotionally and visually impactful moments? Building Diana’s Allies Allies play a crucial role in Diana’s journey in issue #4. Can you tease any new or returning characters and their importance to the story? Balancing Epic and Intimate Stakes Absolute Wonder Woman balances large-scale conflict with deeply personal stakes. How do you ensure both aspects feel equally significant? You’ve said that Historia is sort of part of the DNA of the book even if it’s not cannon. Could you mention anything specfic you drew from that and where may have diverged? Recently there’s been a growing amount of WW/Cheetah shippers, does that influence your use of Barbara Minerva at all? A question from Ryan Perry, you’ve effectively used hyperviolence so that it’s something the reader can’t look away from, yet it doesn’t feel provocative. Is there a science to balancing a compassionate message with that same hyper-violence?…
