Jimbo’s got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and Italian expert Max Callegari alongside him to recap all the latest action from across the continent. Fresh off the back of last week’s thrilling Champions League quarterfinals - it’s back to domestic matters - but with a nod to the small matter of Arsenal v PSG and Barcelona v Inter just around the corner… Back in Serie A, Napoli moved level on points with Inter at the top of the table after the Nerazzurri were beaten 1-0 by a stunning goal from substitute Riccardo Orsolini. So, could we be heading towards a play-off to decide who takes the Scudetto?! In Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid scored dramatic stoppage-time winners to keep the La Liga title race alive ahead of Saturday’s Copa del Rey final between the two. No such luck for Atleti though, who saw their slim title hopes dashed courtesy of a late defeat at the hands of our favourites Las Palmas. Over in France, it’s all eyes on Arsenal for PSG as they continued their march to an unbeaten league season with a 2-1 win at Le Havre. Marseille put five past Montpellier to take back second place from Monaco - but it’s their plans for the rest of the campaign which have raised a few eyebrows… And in Germany, the Bundesliga title race is all but over as Bayern Munich thrashed Heidenheim 4-0 to move eight points clear after Leverkusen were held at St Pauli. But could Xavi Alonso’s focus be elsewhere with links to the Real Madrid job growing stronger? Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend - well, four French moments of the weekend (00.45) • PART 2: Serie A review - Orsolini stuns Inter as Napoli move level on points (06.30) • PART 3: Ligue 1 review - PSG prepare for Arsenal and Marseille head to… Rome?! (18.00) • PART 4: La Liga review - Raphinha and Valverde bag dramatic late winners (32.50) • PART 5: Bundesliga review - Bayern all but champions as Dortmund’s resurgence continues (45.45) Hosted on Acast. Jimbo welcomes Daniel Storey, Adrian Clarke and Tim Spiers into the pod after another pivotal Premier League weekend. Leicester are officially relegated after defeat at home to leaders Liverpool. What awaits the Foxes in the Championship? And does Trent Alexander-Arnold’s celebration mean he’s staying or going? It was nearly another nightmare result for Enzo Maresca but Chelsea fought back at Fulham to secure a huge win in the hunt for Champions League football. Liam Twomey has more from Craven Cottage. Aston Villa produced maybe their most impressive performance of the season as they took apart red-hot Newcastle at Villa Park. We ask where next for Kevin De Bruyne? And where next for Bryan Mbeumo? Plus who’s the most overrated player in the Premier League? And where have all the Ian’s gone? Produced by Charlie Jones. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1a: Leicester 0-1 Liverpool (03.30) • PART 1b: Ipswich 0-4 Arsenal (09.30) • PART 2a: Fulham 1-2 Chelsea with Liam Twomey (14.00) • PART 2b: Man United 0-1 Wolves and that Lyon game (19.00) • PART 3a: Aston Villa 4-1 Newcastle (29.00) • PART 3b: Everton 0-2 Man City - where next for KDB? It’s Jimbo, Duncan Alexander, Charlie Eccleshare and Liam Tharme in the studio as your Champions League final four are set in stone. Arsenal snuff out any hopes of a Real Madrid remontada and indeed beat Los Blancos again at the Bernabeu. How much credit does Mikel Arteta deserve given their absentees? Aston Villa almost complete an incredible comeback but it’s PSG who await the Gunners in the semi-final. Inter set up a 2010 semi-final rematch with Barcelona. The Opta supercomputer is struggling to pick a favourite to go all the way. Newcastle look like they’ll be in next season’s Champions League after another five-star showing against Crystal Palace. Chris Waugh tells us they now have second place in their sights. Plus Pep’s first and last trips to Goodison, botched substitutions and why are Brighton so weird? Produced by Charlie Jones. Is there any way back for Aston Villa against the French champions? And can the meanest defense in Europe stop Thomas Müller signing off in style? We talk Kylian Mbappé’s terrible tackle, more misery at Marseille, the 2-2 Bayern v Dortmund deadlock and Claudio Ranieri’s remarkable Derby della Capitale record. Produced by Lucy Oliva. Jimbo has Duncan Alexander, Daniel Storey and Matt Davies-Adams for company as the race for Champions League football gets very interesting. Newcastle make light work of Man United with a 4-1 victory at St James’s Park. Are they the best team in the country right now. And could they finish 2nd? Chelsea come from 2-0 down to Ipswich to salvage a point but fan discontent grows at Stamford Bridge. And it’s squeaky bum time for Nottingham Forest who lose again at home to Everton. Could Moyes do a Nuno next season? Liverpool could win the title next weekend after Van Dijk’s late winner against West Ham. And we ponder the chances of the English clubs in the Champions League next week. Plus Villa Park is great, Spurs are a shambles and goal difference is a lie. Produced by Charlie Jones. Jimbo’s joined by Natalie Gedra, Tom Williams and Duncan Alexander to run the rule over a breathtaking midweek of Champions League action. It turns out Declan Rice is a free-kick specialist?! Lamine Yamal is ludicrously good at football and the man old enough to be his dad Robert Lewandowski isn’t too bad either. PSG prove why they’ve been touted as favourites to win this competition after bamboozling a spirited Villa, plus dark horses Inter take an advantage back to the San Siro. Away from all the European fun, another big week of Premier League football awaits. Can Liverpool get back on track against West Ham? And is Mo Salah staying after all?! Can Manchester City get over their recent Crystal Palace hoodoo? Is this the weekend Newcastle take advantage in the race for a top five finish? And can Chelsea avoid the indignity of letting Ipswich do the double over them? Plus - how should decorated assistant referee Darren Cann sign off from his final professional appearance after officiating over 1000 matches? Produced by Lucy Oliva. Jimbo’s got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and Michael Cox alongside him to get all warmed up for the mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final first legs. Arsenal v Real, Bayern v Inter, Barca v Dortmund & PSG v Villa await in a fascinating midweek of cup action. We look ahead to each of the ties. On the domestic front, the La Liga title race took another turn as Real Madrid were stunned by Valencia - while Barca were held by Betis but still extended their lead at the top to four points. But was it an opening they’ll rue not taking full advantage of come the end of the season? PSG officially wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with their 1-0 win over Angers - as their quest to go unbeaten continues. Behind them the fascinating race to be the best of the rest continues, with Marseille picking up a much-needed three points while Lyon and Strasbourg put the pressure on Monaco. In the Bundesliga, Bayern showed their mettle to come from behind to beat a stubborn Augsburg 3-1, their first game since the news broke that club legend Thomas Müller is set to leave at the end of the season. Plus - Dortmund warmed up for their trip to Barcelona with an impressive 4-1 win at Freiburg - but with injury news that could scupper their chances… And over in Serie A, Inter surrendered a two-goal lead against lowly Parma,Igor Tudor fires up Juve as they put an end to Roma’s seven-match winning streak, and Lazio go route one as they reignite their hopes of a top four finish. Jimbo's got Matt Davies-Adams, Daniel Storey and Tim Spiers alongside him for a deep-dive into all the weekend's Premier League action. We struggled to stay awake through a thoroughly underwhelming goalless Manchester derby - but at least there's time to talk about Kevin De Bruyne being special. Liverpool's recent struggles continued as they were beaten 3-2 at Fulham with the help of some calamitous defending - is their season at risk ending on a sour note even if/ when they lift the Premier League trophy? Southampton were finally put out of their misery - becoming the first team ever to be relegated from the Premier League with seven games to spare. Elias Burke was at the Tottenham Stadium to see Spurs flatter to deceive again despite their 3-1 win. Wolves are all but mathematically safe and Vítor Pereira's out on the town, Palace v Brighton was ill-disciplined but good fun indeed - and is Mikel Arteta really the hottest manager in the top flight? Plus, we preview the huge midweek Champions League clashes that await Arsenal and Aston Villa, with Real Madrid and PSG lying in wait in their quarterfinal first legs. Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1a: Man United 0-0 Man City + farewell KDB (05.30) • PART 1b: Fulham 3-2 Liverpool (14.25) • PART 2a: Tottenham 3-1 Southampton - Saints relegation confirmed (22.00) • PART 2b: Brentford 0-0 Chelsea (25.45) • PART 3a: Aston Villa 2-1 Nottingham Forest (31.45) • PART 3b: Everton 1-1 Arsenal (35.45) • PART 3c: Ipswich 1-2 Wolves (43.05) • PART 3d: West Ham 2-2 Bournemouth (53.00) • PART 3e: Crystal Palace 2-1 Brighton (55.30) Hosted on Acast.
