We’ve turned intuition into a buzzword—flattened it into a slogan, a gut feeling, or a vague whisper we don’t always know how to hear. But what if intuition is so much more? What if it's one of the most powerful tools we have—and we’ve just forgotten how to use it? In this episode, I’m joined by Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir , Icelandic thought leader, filmmaker, and author of InnSæi: Icelandic Wisdom for Turbulent Times . Hrund has spent over 20 years studying and teaching the science and art of intuition through her TED Talk, Netflix documentary ( InnSæi: The Power of Intuition ), and global work on leadership, innovation, and inner knowing. Together, we explore what intuition really is (hint: not woo-woo), how to cultivate it in a culture obsessed with logic and overthinking, and why your ability to listen to yourself might be the most essential skill you can develop. In This Episode, We Cover: ✅ Why we’ve misunderstood intuition—and how to reclaim it ✅ Practical ways to strengthen your intuitive muscle ✅ What Icelandic wisdom teaches us about inner knowing ✅ How to use intuition during uncertainty and decision-making ✅ Why trusting yourself is an act of rebellion (and power) Intuition isn’t magic—it’s a deep, internal guidance system that already exists inside you. The question is: are you listening? Mike is the longtime co-host of the Coin Show Podcast , is a specialist in U.S. coins, and with Aaron, takes the listener on a journey into the ancient coin collecting hobby from the perspective of a new collector. In today’s episode of the CoinWeek Podcast, I talk to Joe Menna, Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. Joe has devoted practically his whole life to art and now, as the main art director at the Mint, he gets to bring that lifetime of thought and devotion to bear on a task that is both an exciting personal opportunity and something bigger than himself: the creation of a national coinage that we can all be proud of. A task that Joe takes very much to heart. To a collector, there is much to be learned here about recent Mint history, how the Mint works behind the scenes, and what being the Chief Engraver... a position officially revived after almost 40 years... entails in the 21st century. To an artist, there’s a lot that can be gleaned from Joe’s open and earnest discussion about his experiences as both a student and a professional artist - as well as his thoughts and feelings on art itself. From José Luis García-López to Van Gogh, he’s not afraid to mix the low and the high, the popular and the fine. We talk about all this and more, next, on the CoinWeek Podcast! *** The CoinWeek Podcast is brought to you by PCGS. New PCGS Market Report is out now. Charles Morgan and Chris Bulfinch start off this episode of the CoinWeek Podcast discussing the recent high price paid for a coin in a very early PCGS holder and issues surrounding the potential redesign of U.S. Currency. After that, Charles and Chris break down everything you need to know about completing the DANSCO 7070 coin album. The DANSCO 7070, also known as the United States Type album, collects one example of most major types of U.S. coins struck from 1800 onward. This was a deceptively difficult album for most collectors to put together, but it's made even more difficult considering most higher-end classic U.S. coins are now encapsulated in certified holders. 1 Episode 150: CoinWeek Podcast #150: How R.S. Yeoman Changed the Coin Collecting Hobby Forever 45:46
In this week's episode of the CoinWeek Podcast, Charles Morgan talks to longtime Red Book editor Kenneth Bressett on the career and legacy of Red Book creator and coin board innovator R.S. Yeoman. Yeoman's ideas transformed the hobby from an academic pursuit to one with broad mainstream appeal. Whereas most numismatic books published before 1950 were printed in limited numbers, Yeoman's Red Book was an instant success and has gone on to sell tens of millions of copies and is updated annually. This year, we will see the publication of its 75th edition. Bressett worked with Yeoman and probably knew him better than anyone in the industry and Charles asks him to share his insights into Yeoman's vision for the hobby and where Yeoman fits amongst the giants of twentieth-century numismatists. Also in this episode, Charles and Chris Bullfinch discuss this week's U.S. Mint product offerings, take a quick look at the rise and fall of the Redditors' silver bullion play, and discuss how difficult it is to fill Dansco albums in this day and age.…
