City Year UK is a youth social action charity which challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time voluntary service. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they support pupils growing up in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. This is podcast summarises current from training, and provides an opportunity for our volunteers to continue to develop.

What do we know about Jesus and Mary? For starters, what the evangelists recorded in the gospels. Throughout Church history, mystics have received visions of the life of Jesus and Mary and recorded them as biographies. One such mystic was Venerable Maria of Agreda who authored The Mystical City of God, a four-volume book totaling more than 2,000 pages. It's a daunting task to read, but Marian theologian Fr. "Two Years in the Forbidden City" is a book written by Princess Der Ling, who was the renowned Lady-in-waiting to the Empress Dowager Cixi in the early 20th century. Though Empress Dowager Cixi is a household name, Der Ling's point of view offers a quite unique and surprisingly intimate portrayal of the Empress and Beijing's Imperial Palace in China's last feudal dynasty.
