- Panic attacks. The facts
It took nine years of horrendous panic attacks, a myriad of other miserable, debilitating, symptoms, innumerable doctors and consultants, tests, x-rays and examinations before I was eventually diagnosed with Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome; an insidious respiratory condition caused through dysfunctional breathing.
Interestingly, I felt that I was breathing normally until the difference between a correct breathing pattern and an incorrect one was described to me.
I was taught how to breathe properly and my panic attacks disappeared - and all the other mystifying, miserable, debilitating symptoms. That was over thirty years ago and I haven’t had a panic attack since. And there’s more...
The consultant who eventually and correctly diagnosed my Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome was the late Dr Claude Lum, who pioneered extensive research into the cause and treatment of dysfunctional breathing. My personal experience with this debilitating condition led me to undertake training with Dr Lum and I subsequently incorporated breathing re-training into my private psychotherapy practice.
I’m delighted to offer private re-breathing consultations in my clinic in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Alternatively, click on https://www.yourpanicfreelife.com and check out the amazing online breathing re-training programme that leads the way from Panic To Recovery.
