Charged with leading and building an Afghanistan Air Force, General Michel had to think outside the norms to blend 14 nations into one working family. Having grown up in France working in his grandmother’s European restaurant, he knew something about hospitality and different cultures. Thus, the social media phenomenon known as the Gratitude Café was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. Hired as the first female commander of the Little Rock Air Force Base, Colonel Ochoa has had to think outside the box, too. From breast feeding on the flight line, to flying over 3,000 hours in support of four different missions, she has done it all over the course of two decades.
