This week I was joined by Gary Thacker, author of the book Beautiful Bridesmaids Dressed in Oranje. The book charts the unfulfilled glory of the Dutch National side. We focused on the great team of 1974, with Cruyff et al, and how exactly they lost that final to West Germany. We also talked about what exactly is total football, what made that team so special as well as if they should have won the World Cup in 1978. A really interesting discussion looking at one of the most influential sides of football history.
