In this episode, I talk about why representation matters. I talk about the meaning of representation in the media for people of color. I share my opinion through the lens of a trauma therapist and social worker who often has clients coming through the door asking why their self esteem is so low. In this episode I talk about why your confidence may be low as a result of the lack of representation in the media. It's a radical notion but hear me out. We know microagressions can lead to racial trauma and this constant cancelling of shows that feature Latinas and other BIPOC folx is at the very least a microagression if not an attack with a message on people of color.
