A little about "Brutal" Brendan Barrett:
I WOULD RATHER STARVE WITH RESPECT, THAN FEAST IN SHAME. I was born in Philadelphia but have spent almost my entire life in New Jersey. Since I can remember I have always been playing one sport or another, and competing. I have played soccer, baseball, tennis, track, rugby, football, and my personal favorite, wrestling. I have been in sports teams practically since I could walk. I attended high school at Pinelands Regional were I narrowed the field of sports down to football in the fall, wrestling in the winter, and track in the spring. After graduating I continued my education at Muhlenberg College in Pa where I further narrowed my sports down to just wrestling. I graduated with a double major in accounting and business administration with a minor in finance. After college I noticed that there was a major hole in my life; I missed competing. Realizing this I decided to find a sport to fill this void. After much thought and consideration I decided I wanted to start training and compete in mixed martial arts. I currently am training Muay Thai, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, and boxing. Despite how violent some fights get, there is always one common element carried among all of the fighters–Respect.

Through my training I do not focus on preparing to defeat a specific opponent. I train to better myself and to prepare myself for anything that may happen. If I get submitted, then I did not train my grappling and submission defense enough. If I get knocked out, then I did not train my stand-up skills enough. If I lose because of my conditioning, then I did not train my cardio enough. If I lose a decision, then I did not work hard enough to finish the fight. If I lose because I lost my composure or was not mentally prepared, then I did not meditate enough on the fight. If I lose I have nowhere to look but within. If I win it is because I had the help of great people around me.
