Smartphone images of systemic sclerosis-related digital ulcers provide a clear picture of disease progression for the first rheumatology visit.
Dr Anastasia Madenidou (University of Manchester, UK ) and Dr Graham Dinsdale (Salford Royal Hospital & University of Manchester, UK) join Dr Latika Gupta to discuss their report of a patient with SSc-related digital ulcers who took the initiative to take smartphone images to track progression. Here, Dr Madenidou and Dr Dinsdale highlight the use of smartphone images to inform best clinical practice and future research due to the possibility of remote monitoring, and the use of a documented trajectory of disease informing a diagnosis.
