The boardroom over the last decade has seen strides of growth in regard to the role played by board directors. A once ceremonial role has now evolved to include both a leadership aspect and a fiduciary obligation. We examine this evolution on today’s episode as we welcome Mike Useem to the show.

Michael is Professor of Management and Faculty Director of the Center for Leadership and Change Management and McNulty Leadership Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His university teaching includes MBA and executive-MBA courses on management and leadership, and he offers programs on leadership and governance for managers in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He works on leadership development with companies and organizations in the private, public and non-profit sectors. He is the author of the forthcoming, The Edge: How Ten CEOs Learned to Lead – and the Lessons for Us All (2021). Mike is co-anchor for a weekly program “Leadership in Action” on SiriusXM Radio Channel 132, Business Radio Powered by the Wharton School.

In today’s episode, we learn from Mike’s experience teaching at the Center for Leadership and Change Management at the Wharton School while he also discusses with us how the roles of board directors have evolved over the years and now carry much more significance than in years past. You won’t want to miss this episode of Boardroom Bound.
