The show that gives you the play-by-play of the only game that matters...The Game of Thrones S01E01 - King Viserys I holds a tournament to celebrate the birth of his second child. Rhaenyra welcomes her Uncle Daemon back to the Red Keep. The show started off by exceeding most of our collected expectations, revisiting familiar sets and atmosphere with a collection of new characters to meet was exciting. Damon and King Viserys dynamics are almost taken from the book; the brotherly love and hate can be felt right from the screen. Damon's character is more antagonizing to his book counterpart yet still true to the overall personality. Raniera’s Character has undergone some minor changes from the book Emma D’Arcy plays a much more reclusive character and far less ambitious than the character we follow in the book. The appeal for character acceptance is on in this episode. Yet when the ten minutes of the episode concluded, we as thrones readers and watchers were horrified at the prospect of the prince that was promised prophecy being introduced two hundred years before the events of the original game of thrones. Like a football halfback rushing to the endzone just to fumble the ball at the end. Overall a promising episode for the start of a new hit series.
